1 Attachment(s)
We will have our 2013 Salty Cajun fishing tournament on Saturday August 3, 2013. The tournament will be held on big lake at Calcasieu Point. Our tournament charity again this year will be The Saint Nicholas Center for Early in Lake Charles. Further details are located below.

I look forward to meeting everyone in person and hope that we will have a great turnout.

August 3rd Saltycajun.com / Saint Nicholas Center Tournament

Location: Calcasieu Point
Date: August 3rd 2013
Time: Safe Daylight to 1pm
Weigh in: At Calcasieu Point

Captains Meeting - To be determined

We will also have a youth division and you can once again launch from wherever you would like as long as you have either a weight card signed by me or a paypal printout dated before August 3rd.

The cost of the tournament will be $50 per angler and this cost will include both a tournament shirt and lunch.

There will be a door prize drawing at the weigh in for all paid entries, must be present .

There will also be a prize drawing for the people that can not fish but are entering to help out the charity. You will receive a shirt also.

Lastly, we will once again for a 2nd year in a row have a Kayak division.

Now to schedule that week off!

Can't wait for this year's tournament! It should be bigger and better. :)

Hopefully we won't have to see Merc try to run again this year! :rotfl:

I'm just gonna throw this out there. A few ppl know me (salty shaw) and (jadams) sure can give me a decent reference. Lol. Anyway I'm not the best fisherman but can definately hold my own.. The queStion is if any two ppl would like to fish with me possibly with knowledge of BL Ill be looking for a partner or two.i will 100% fish it this yr unless I get fired from or quit my job.I have a 24' fish master with a 225hp Suzuki with pp and willing to go in mine or yours. Saying this very early just because I'm sure good partners are hard to come by and I'm good ppl I like to think. Pm me now or later idc if not ill fish it solo and just stay behind "w" all day!!!! Lol j/k. Tight lines

Does that mean you're going to make it this year?;)

rextreme 04-15-2013 08:55 PM

Hey ckinchen. Just a thought.. Maybe it would be a good idea to have a pro division ie people who fish for a living and an amature division ie people who fish for fun. Not really a level playing field to have the two groups compete against each other but I understand that this is just a good time and for a good cause and I plan to fish either way. You may though attract more participants with the two divisions..

ckinchen 04-15-2013 09:13 PM

As we get bigger I think that is a really good idea. Right now the pot is just not big enough to do both.

mikedatiger 05-15-2013 01:06 PM

Casey, can you start posting up sponsors as they come in?

Off the bat, Tidal Surge has once again come through, so a big SC thanks to them!

ckinchen 06-13-2013 01:27 PM

Ok gang. I am ordering tournament shirts in the next couple of weeks. We should have our flyer completed this weekend and I will turn on the ability to pay through the site like we did last year by this weekend.

The price will be the same as last year and will once again include food and a tournament shirt and a free youth entry with each paid adult entry.

ckinchen 06-13-2013 01:31 PM

Our sponsors this year in no particular order are as follows:

Yellow Mouth Charters
Low Tide Charters
Telich Homes
Yellow Mouth Baits
Bubba Oustalet
Red Tuna Shirt Club
Camp Canard II
Paul's Jewelry
Tidal Surge Lures
Egret Baits
Stick Em Rods
Adams Trophy Charters
Calcasieu Extreme Rods
Jerry's Marine
Bolton Ford
Shaw's Guide Service
M&K CPAS
Outcast Reel Co.
Steven Dupuis Oil
SaltyCajun, LLC
BrookshireFarm
Lake Area Marine
Raymond Little - Providing our scales

I still need a weight master for this years event.

As other sponsors are added I will update this list as we are waiting on answers from a couple more.

specktator 06-13-2013 02:45 PM

"Steven Dupuis Oil" not Dupre
;)

SpeckleBUTTCHEEKS 06-13-2013 02:56 PM

Go ahead and add Shroom Corp. LLC to the list of sponsors.

I think A&R Firearms LLC would like to get involved this year and, economy permitting, Fisher Collision Center. Maybe both groups could donate a firearm. Of course, FFL rules would apply.

I'll have to check with th atf but, I think we could pull it off to where firearm transfers could be done on site.

Bluechip 06-19-2013 10:35 PM

I know it was mentioned toward the end of the G.I. trip, but are any of the G.I. crew planning on heading over for the tourney? prolly time to lock down lodging if we gonna do it. I most likely will fish the tourney, might come by land this time tho......that fuel bill killed me last year running to BL by boat from TX.
