**** cancer

My mother in law has been fighting cancer for almost a year. Our family needs all the prayers we can get. She is the greatest woman I know. She has been fighting ovarian cancer but today they found out it has spread to her brain. We are trying to get her to cancer center of America ASAP. I don't know what to do. My wife is completely torn apart. I can't stand to see either of them suffer. I'm so lost. Please keep us in your prayers. I have always question religion. Y'all are right. Lets just say I have been talking with him a lot lately.

mriguy 05-01-2013 07:38 PM

Feel your pain my grand maw found out this Past Fri she had pancreatic cancer and my wife had been with her last two days at MDAnderson

They told her today it was already in Stage 4 spread to liver and kidneys..

He told her to just go home and be with your family for next 4 to 6 months!!

Hard to swallow just try to make the best of it

Bluechip 05-01-2013 07:47 PM

God Bless you buddy!!! Try to stay strong for your family and I will say a special prayer for all involved.....

Miracles do happen Brother...I'm living proof. I was put on life support January 8, 2011 as they called my family in to say their goodbyes.... I even made the journey down a white hall way made of marble to see my grandmother who has been dead for over 30 years and my best friend that was killed in a tragic car wreck 15 years ago sitting at the end of a church pew..... The hall way kept going but I could not get to them because of a glass wall between us. I walked backwards down the hall looking for a doorway so I could get to them....but never could find one as they faded off into the distance....

Several weeks later I woke up.....

You just gotta believe Brother, miracles do happen.

May God wrap his hands around you and give you direction and place his healing hands on your family, especially your mother in law and the medical staff to get her healed of her sickness...

Godspeed Brother!!!! Don't give up!!

I understand completely. I am at St. Jude right now with my son Hunter. He has a tumor in his brain stem and has been undergoing radiation treatment. We found out around 2 months ago and it has totally changed our lives. My wife has quit work and basically lives here in Memphis. My 13 year old is at home with my mother in law and I go between work in Africa and here in Memphis. Every weekend we go home and try to enjoy every minute with Hunter. He will be 15 this month. All he wants to do is fish when we are home lol. He is a gret kid and with God's grace we will get through this. He finishes radiation on May 14th and then it's just a wait and see. Every three months we will have to come back here for MRI's for the next 2 years then every 6 months for the next 5 years then once a year for the rest of his life. It'll be like he is living with a time bomb in his head. :(

But there is a good side. They found it early and we were able to get into St Jude's. This place and he people here are Amazing.

wetaline 05-01-2013 09:46 PM

Thanks Guy s. when we first found out it was terrible. I didn't know how we would make it. But as we've dealt with it things have gotten easier and we're more at peace with it if that makes any sense. Seeing what some of the other families are going through here is very humbling. St Jude's is a very special place. I'm thankful every day that we came here to fight this dreadful disease. I hope that if anyone ever finds themselves in a similar position they come here first.

I lost my Grand Maw at 10:10 this am... She found out she had Cancer last Thursday and passed today!

I just thank God she was able to come home yesterday and have her sisters and family spend her last hours together.

I sure pray that we can find a way for early testing on pancreatic cancer! From all I have been reading it is one of the worst due to, hard to diagnosis early

Prayers to all that are or have family, struggling with cancer. Trust in The Lord and lean upon Him. Some He chooses to heal, some not, it's His choice, not ours. No matter what happens, keep the faith!
