2013 SWLA fishing rodeo trout and redfish divisions
 

Just an FYI. The fishing rodeo is coming up in a couple months but wanted to let everyone know there will be cash prizes for trout and reds this year. Up to $1000 for trout and $500 for reds but are still trying to get more money for red divisions. More details about this later just wanted to let everyone know early.

The weigh in will be at the swla fishing club right past the 210 launch where it always is. But you can fish anywheres

As long as u make it to weigh on time yes anywhere.

On a side note the $1000 is only for the regular fishing division. We have a separate division for jr anglers but a kid may enter the regular devision but will be competing with adults. The fist place jr trout is a trophy. We do have an outstanding jr angler award as well.

Also a scuba division for the spear hunters out there. But the cash prizes like brown fin said will be for adult trout and reds.

Just an update. The redfish division will have a 1st place trophy for biggest redfish but the cash redfish will be the heaviest redfish under 27". Also calcasieu extreme custom rods and yellow mouth baits will be donating a rod for Jr trout and jr redfish division. Thanks to those guys again. Also there will be a couple of K2 coolers for the youth division. Bring the family out and have a good weekend.

Just a quick bump. Hoping to see some of y'all next week at captains night. Friday the 28th. We will be giving away $500 in gift cards to west marine and a K2 cooler for door prizes. Let us know you're from salty Cajun if you come. Also we will be selling raffle tickets for another K2 to be given away at the weigh in Sunday.

$35 for adult $10 for youth. And if you enter at captains night it's $10 off

Adult division is $35 ($25 at Captains Night) Jr. Division (16 and younger) $10. Kids entering the Jr. Division will only be eligible for the Jr. Division but they may enter the adult division as well buy purchasing a separate adult ticket. The $1000 1st place trout is only for the adult division. The 1st place trout in the Jr. Division wins a Calcasieu Extreme Rod and a 70 qt K2. We have many other prizes as well. We will be going over everything at Captain's Night.

The Rodeo will be moved to July 19, 20 and 21 due to weather. Here is a letter from the Tournament Director.

Due to the possibility of severe weather in the Gulf of Mexico over the weekend, the S.W.La Fishing Club is post-poning out 4th of July Fishing Tournament until July 19th, 20th & 21st. (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday) Our professional weather advisors are predecting numerous severe thunder storms with dangerous lightening over the weekend. Also, a low pressure (disturbance # 10) is moving north directly for our coast on Sunday bringing high winds & rough seas from Venice to Cameron Louisiana. Hope everyone has a fun & safe 4th of July. See you at the Rodeo in 2 weeks.
