Best Jig Head
What is the best jig head to use? I am using h&h and missed a bunch today and had many come off right at the boat.
Does anyone else have a better way to rig soft plastics, gulp shrimp, Sand Eel |
That's a silly question on this forum

Buy American for sure no matter what you buy!!! Strong hooks and dont break
|
I buy the cheat "saltwater" jig heads from lake charles tackle. Wide gap super strong and sharp. The mirrolure ones arent too bad
|
I really believe that if you try Yellowmouth Jigheads one time, you will never use another jighead. The Mustad hooks are sharp and strong and the 3 ring design really holds plastics on well.
|
I second this notion^^^^^

Do yourself a favor and just buy one pack of yellowmouth jigheads. You will not turn back. They hold your plastic on like no other head and the hooks are sharp and will not straighten out. my buddy found some jigheads built like yellow mouth at academy but, I rather pay an extra dollar and support a louisiana company!!!!

Yep

logic lure, wiggly jiggly! bam!

Hogie Screwlok w/Gamakatsu hooks have always worked well for me
|
Another vote for yellowmouth here. By far the best I've ever used

I'd rather pay extra for yellowmouths knowing that I'll save on the amount of plastics used. Can usually get 25 fish on one plastic vs. the 5ish on other jig heads I've tried in the past before they no longer stay put.

a lot of good answers on here. hook choice is probably the most crucial. hook needs to be strong and durable. still needs to hold a point after you've stuck that 40-50th trout or red of the day as well the countless times it was drug over rocks or oysters. Second factor is bait holding ability. Some people may like changing baits numerous times a day while others want that bait to last through todays limits and maybe even tomorrows. Lots if time, testing, throwing, talking, torturing, tying, re-tying, re-tying and planning went into putting the yellowmouth jigheads on the market for everyone to enjoy. We try to give anglers the best product for their hard earned dollar because thats what we would want. Give em a try if you haven't and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
As always, thanks for the support guys. Josh |
And, if you're not aware, YellowMouth uses Mustad Ultrapoint hooks that are 2X strong so you can just about hook into anything in the bay without worrying about bending the hook.
Made right. Made in the USA. |
Yellowmouth for sure and its not even close:)

Where can I buy yellow mouth jig heads?
|
I use OCR non painted jig heads.. Awesome hook and jighead for 50 cents.. I also have the H&H professional round painted jigheads for the few times painted makes a difference.
OCR are located in LAF.. |
I also really like to yellowmouth jigheads, which brings me to a question for yellowmouth guys. Do y'all sell a half ounce jighead? If any of you would like to send me another catalog sheet, I'd appreciate it. Time for me to place another order. Shoot me a PM for email
|
I vote for Yellowmouth
|
Yellowmouth are the best. I wish they would make a long shank version for longer baits.
