Told momma-c that we were going and she said no lil-c was not ready for Big Lake or any saltwater body.Didn't argue with her and just waited until she left for work and then hooked up the boat and off we went.Got lil-c some live shrimp and told him everytime that cork goes under reel fast,he did great catching everything except a trout, well momma -c is home and not happy with me so I guess I'll be in another room tonight, she's just over protective,he's our only one, here is a few pics.

AWESOME!!!
Love seeing kids fishing! |
Great job, Dad! It's good to see there are still men out there who wake up every morning and put on the pants in the family.
I'm always careful to listen to my wife's reasoning if she expresses some discomfort about the age appropriateness of an activity, and I'm sure I had mine shooting, hunting, and fishing a bit earlier than she may have been ideally comfortable with. (Driving too!) It is the nature of motherhood to be a bit overprotective. God made families to have two parents so that there are two sets of eyes watching over the children and two views contributing to their safety and training. A mother's safety concerns should always be carefully considered, but a good father won't keep his children in a box if he concludes that mamma is being a bit overly protective. Children need to spend lots of time with their fathers doing things like fishing and hunting and hanging out and having a good time in ways that do not include movies, malls and video games. Good on ya! |
those pics are priceless, awesome catch little man!

Good Work, Big C!

Definitely worth a little time in the dog house!
|
That smile will make it an easy stay in the dog house! They get over it...Eventually!
The first time I took my son to the MS river in a boat was a true battle but, when we came home with a bunch of fish and a smiling 5 yr old, she couldn't even complain...Until the next day when we were gone all day again. It just so happens that the next day was Mother's Day! LOL |
He will never forget that first trip and neither will you. GREAT JOB!!!!!
