The area I call the rock pile is just outside the pass before you get to tee butte. Princess ditch is the first cut on the right in west cote blanche bay if your coming from the ivanhoe canal.
|
and what is the commercial canal in the northeast corner of Vbay near weeks island??? saw that in the article also
What is the rock pile? a reef? |
rock pile is a pile of rocks that kinda make a jetty if you will, running out vertically from the bank. Most of the time it is out of the water.

commercial canal = port of iberia canal from port of iberia to the bay.
i remember a few years ago when the sportsman ruined spanish lake with one of those 'fishing reports' lol |

That's y I read LSM to cross spots of my list for the next trip. I say give them cords too. Let them throw anchors at each other and scare the fish too me.

if you can't understand that, please post up your favorite spots on here so everybody can go catch a boatfull of fish. i mean, since it doesn't harm the fish population in a open bay and gulf system. lol |
What other spots are mentioned in this article? The spots already mentioned are far from being a secret. Hell on google maps you can see 15 or so boats sitting on the rock pile. The vbay area is massive...like you said articles attract a crowd therefore keeping other spots not mentioned wide open.

sorry, i was not refering to the story on sw pass specifically. guess i'm still butthurt about the lowlife who posted my reef numbers in the newspaper several years ago and ruined the best spot i ever found in the bay.
guess i just need to buy some good binoculars and look for boats catching fish, like alot of the folks do nowadays. :) |

So, you found a reef no one else knew about?
|
It's getting crazy. I want to take a offshore gig ( which I hate ) just to fish during the week.

nope. but in several years of fishing it, never saw a boat on it.
i wouldn't fish it on weekends, and would put the pole down when gawkers pass by. my old buddy who crabs for a living showed it to me. there ain't no secret spots in the bay, no doubt. but there is a a big differance between fishing the trashpile with all the idiots and fishing a small living reef way out in the middle of nowhere with little to no pressure. |
i don't plan on going out there any time soon. just asking to know. but, i am sure some people will be out there this weekend due to the article. Hey its public water, and the magazine has to make their money. I just prefer to fish somewhere where i know the water will be salty when i show up, LOL
