Is it just me or is the darrel's special the best sandwhich in lake chuck. I had one for lunch with jalepeno mayo and it was as usual amazing.

Its the best one i've had... but considering I dont live there thats not saying much

I've only been to the one in Sulphur and it was fantastic.

I may sound weird but i think the shrimp, bbq brisket and sausage are better than the special.

Shrimp w/ jalapeno mayo is my fav but I have stay close to a restroom after I eat it.

I like the BBQ sausage best. Thinly shaved sausage w/ BBQ sauce. Add jalapeño mayo!!!

Darrels is in Lake Charles on the south side of I-210. It is on College street [which runs along the side of I-210] and 1/2 block west of Ryan street.

I agree. I use to stop in there every week to pickup a poboy for supper. Do they still have the nightly special price? Each night during the week, a different poboy would be discounted.

the darrell's that he opened in between oakdale and oberlin is grubbin too its about 3 miles from my house. I would have to say that i wouldn't know if the special is the best only two ive tried is it and surf and turf. figured why mess with a good thing

And ZARA's. the one on pyrtania. The roast beef there is THE BEST SANDWICH EVER!!! Oyster is top notch too. Just sayin. I've been to Darrells and 3 of the 4 listed above. Zara's is the best. If ya'll are in N.O., it is a stop well worth your time. But you are definitely right, Darrell's is the best around here.

that jalapeno mayo is the bomb!!! I think Villager's in Maurice puts up some tight competition... but they can't touch that mayo!

I'll have to check them out on my next trip

Just make sure you go to the little store on pyrtania. There is a big store further uptown that sells sandwiches too. No comparison

Thats the good one, the lesser one is closer to Tulane, I use to deliver to both of them when i worked for Caro's in Bayou Blue
