What kind of info you looking for?
I think they are supposed to open by the end of the month.

Its the 3 curse tackle store....LC has had a few open and close over last few years
Hard to compete with Academy prices and LCT loyalty of its customers
Wish them luck but history is not in there favor

Good luck to them. Never know might be a hit since LCT is under new management and owner. Not nearly the same atmosphere as the old store.

It's the lady that was running lake Charles tackle before the switch. I work with her husband. They are trying to open next thursday. They will also have hunting supplies.

I agree with hard to compete with academy and luck not being in favor (ive seen the two come and go on gulf hwy), but loyalty from LCT is unheard of on my part. I used to go there at least once a week and pick up tackle and each time it was the same ol lazy *** attitude (maybe its because I'm not a guide???). How in the hell does LCT run out of glow/chart tail sandeels in the middle of summer? I tried for a month to pick up some wedgetails and one week it was " we will have a new shipment next week" the next week it was "oh just a few more days", the week after its "not sure" and the next week its "well they are doing so well with the vudu shrimp maybe you should try those". I shop local when possible to support local but when I'm paying 20% more for a product I do expect to be treated with better service and also be spoken to straightforward. Tell me you didn't order any so I can go online and have them shipped to my house by the end of the week. I'll still go in to buy YMB jigheads and other tackle that I may not be able to pick up at the chain stores, but for the other stuff I have no problem stocking up elsewhere. You would think that a business that has been around with loyal customers would keep plenty of product in stock.
ENDRANT.:shaking:
(been shopping at LCT for 10-15yrs, old location is 2 minute walk from my house)

It's tough to compete with big business. But I will try to support local business even if its a bit higher.

they have been working hard to get the tackle that everyone wants and uses and not just stock the shelves with crap. Have met with them several times and think they have a good philosophy and direction.

Its hard for guys to compete with big boys.
I like going to small shop because it is different and get better service.
I live in baton rouge and would stop through going houston.
I use like lct due small store and had different things back early 2000's
Then last year it became bland almost like acadmey just nothing making it different.
Still got love toledo tackle in many.
Joke got to pay $10 entry fee to look but got different stuff.
Its different.
|
Since the old owners of lct are opening up a new place they will have my business 100% IMO the old lct had a much friendlier and more helpful atmosphere

I would like to support the local businesses like LCT but their hours suck. I work 8-5 M-F. and I went to LCT around 11 A.M on a Saturday and they were closed. I'm not taking off work early to pay 20% more.

Awesome logic. Open super early so that the two people who forgot something the day before can pick it up and the owners make a tidy $3.45 in margin.

cajun fast mart opens at 4:30 during summer fishing peak months, earlier than that during duck season.

I know, I wouldn't expect that. But 7:00am isn't to early to ask that a tackle shop open... I'm normally up running and gunning on my days off by 7:30.

Will definitely shop there. I agree with a post above... I would rather give my business and money to a local company than a big chain. I havent been to LCT in a while; I was the only one in there last year and no one asked if I needed any help or even cared I was in there... I guess since I am not a guide either!

I had the exact same problem! They had the ones i wanted for 249.99 bux... But i was a lil u decided so i wanted to try on a few. Had a hard time to get anyone to help me. Then once they opened it they just walked away offering no help. I sat them down and went elsewhere. Actually ended up gettin them off ebay for 169.00 free shipping! :-)
