beach this weekend

the wind is gonna be changing from ESE to E and ENE wednesday throughout the weekend. should this be ok conditions for the beach. i'm pretty sure it can't be any worse than the south winds and all the seaweed, i fought with last weekend

duckman1911 09-09-2013 09:30 PM

Good luck bro. Wish I could get away from yard work and meet ya down there. The seaweed sucked the last time we were on the beach. Let me know if ya find some bulls. Good luck

buddybeagle 09-09-2013 09:34 PM

thanks man. don't worry ill text you some pics as soon as i catch them

buddybeagle 09-09-2013 09:38 PM

y'all didn't get all that much seaweed while i was there. i think i was catching it all before it got to your lines lol

duckman1911 09-09-2013 09:42 PM

Thanks for the help.lol. You get into some reds I dang sure wana see some pics man.

buddybeagle 09-09-2013 09:46 PM

no problem bro! lol. i gotta get some to post on here so i can get some salty cajun cash lol

buddybeagle 09-10-2013 05:11 PM

i forgot to add a question mark in my first post. should the winds from the ENE be good for fishing the beach?

duckman1911 09-10-2013 05:57 PM

I dont know much but i do know that if the wind comes from anywhere north you better have bug spray. Blows them dang marsh skeeters right across the road to you.

buddybeagle 09-10-2013 08:19 PM

yeah, them marsh mosquitoes, you slap them they slap you back! lol

duckman1911 09-10-2013 08:29 PM

Seen one of them skeeters that I swear was big enough to have his way with a turkey.lol

cduhon 09-10-2013 08:55 PM

If winds blow steady north for 2 days then beach be good, looks like winds will be variable and strong south winds, be a big risk. Looks to be some north but not consistent, hope it lays down and clears up but not too promising.

thanks cduhon, gonna go anyway, but just tryin to learn a lil bit...so i guess, the only real time to go during the year, is in the winter time? cause we don't many north wind flows during the summer

Average Fisherman 09-10-2013 10:14 PM

It actually looks like a deep easterly flow across most of the gulf with very little southern component near shore. It looks like winds will fluctuate from northeast to east southeast to about 50 miles out from late Thursday through Sunday. I don't know what that means for fishing, but the deep southerly flow will most definitely shut off starting tomorrow.

I fish the beach a lot, It can be great when wind lays down and water clears up, but can also be very humbling when wind is blowing and water is muddy. It takes couple days to settle out. Best of luck to you and hope you tear them up. Post pictures and let us know.

buddybeagle 09-10-2013 10:24 PM

i went to weather.com and type in the area code for cameron 70631 and look at the boat and beach report. they have a 10 day marine report.

Haha. For what I lack in fishing knowledge, I hope I can make up for in meteorology knowledge. I'm heading down for a few days this weekend to hit some roadside spots and hopefully the beach. I'm guessing if the beach clears up at all, it'll be Saturday.

Average Fisherman 09-11-2013 06:33 AM

I don't think you will get into any trout. Wind been pretty stiff out the south, but may get into some reds. Good luck. Bring a 4 wheel drive if you can and drive down Mae's beach looking for bait and you may find some reds.

heading west from holly beach, they have 3 roads that lead down to camps. which one is mae's beach? after those is Jim Erbelding road, is that Johnson Bayou?

specktator 09-11-2013 04:44 PM

This one will be past those. Right after the sign that says Johnson Bayou. I'm pretty sure there is a little campground right across the street from turn.

bgizzle 09-11-2013 05:30 PM

Yea when you see jb sign you'll see maes sign

buddybeagle 09-11-2013 09:16 PM

ok thanks. i was thinking on hitting the jetties in cameron that afternoon, so i think ill just stay west of holly beach this time. but ill make a trip when the weather is perfect and try to get some specks too.
