Squirrel opener this weekend
 

Squirrel opens this weekend. Who's goin and what part of the state are you huntin'? My Pup and I will be out there at our old cattle farm South of Erath. I went pass a couple days ago and it was full up. Looks like rice and gravy for lunch Saturday!:D

gotta work saturday... will try and make a QUICK hunt before work.

i may make a quick trip this weekend also... do a lil bow hunting and take out the .22 afterwards for a few squirrels

hunting sat morning in Palmetto

Yep...headed to the camp Friday gunna bust some tree rats and plant some food plots.

Sabine Island for 4 days. Man Im hungry for a lil rice and gravey.

Gonna give it a shot Saturday afternoon in Lebleu, goin put out a feeder so may as well pop a few while I'm out there.

Headed to Sherburne 11,12 and 13th with the entire Soileau clan. Staying at uncle's camp on the Courtableu. Doubt a single squirrel will be killed, but we are going to have a blast

Goin to Flatwoods hoping to kill a few. We're roasting a hog I killed last weekend. Should be a good time.

Might kill a few from alcohol poisoning with everyone pissing in the water and poor squirrels drinking it.

This could happen, I just hope we don't end up at Bada's again.:puke::brew::spineyes:

The LaHaye crew will be in the woods east of oakdale. Not sure how much hunting I'll do though.

Considering going scout and maybe climb a tree. Haven't been on the Island in 20 years.

I'm gonna take a limit behind my shop! Done hunting in 5 minutes, tops! LOL

Heading to North Louisiana, Richland Parish where the big fox squirrels hang. Taking 4 year old for his first hunt:) Going to hit the white perch after that hopefully

We loaded up with big foxes too. Never see any cats on the property I'm hunting Saturday. Where I deer hunt about 10 minutes away there is both. This was last years opener Attachment 56924

They are much less crazy than those cat squirrels

Yea you have to be quick on the draw with the cats for sure which I find makes em more fun to shoot. IMO the cats are better to eat. Much more tender. If I'm cooking them with together I usually have to pull the cats out and continue to cook the foxes. The cats will tend to fall apart before the foxes are done.

me and my boy are gonna be up by toledo bend on our deer lease finishing up mowing and squirrell hunting. I hope to have some pics to post on monday

100 acres of private propety behind my grandparents house. Been huntin it since I was a boy and thats were me and my son will be. If my dad doesnt come with us we'll have it to ourselves.. Its about 25 miles southwest of Alexandria. Yeah I have permission to hunt there. Just to clear that up.lol

22 shorts will get me limit out my back yard.

I am going right next to the house. I hope Karen doesn't come to far west and kick up the winds to 15mph or so. Gonna be hard if that is the case. 12 gauge 2 3/4" #5 shot for me.

X2 we looking at 5-6 mph at shooting time Saturday. Sunday is gonna be bad though 14-15 mph is what's forecasted.
