2014 Chevy/GMC

I know alot of you here arent favs of GM due to the whole bail out thing, but the new 2014's are some sexy trucks! If I hadnt just bought a house I would be all over one right now. Does anybody have one and have any reviews to share?

i know their fast...... faster than my chevy

Lake Chuck Duck 10-07-2013 12:26 PM

You can get them with a 4.3L Ecotec V6 or a 5.3L Ecotec V8. Not sure the specifics of these engines but I guess they are attempting to keep up with the ford ecoboost type.

Jordan 10-07-2013 12:29 PM

they are some kinda sexy. Almost ran off the rd "running" that chevy this morning because i kept staring at it.... Very nice truck

MarshRat89 10-07-2013 01:18 PM

With my 07 in the shop the past 3 weeks I'm thinking hard about it. It's nice not having a note to pay right now though! Did they come out with a new diesel also?

I love the interior. Body is just too blocked for me. I'm sure they will grow on me.

I like the gmc's better....just can't get used to the ugly steps in the bumper, makes them look cheap IMO.

Clampy 10-07-2013 07:03 PM

Chevy headlights are not the best looking IMO but the GMC front end is FINE.

How does that saying go? "You can put steak sauce on a hot dog..."?

SULPHITE 10-07-2013 07:39 PM

Interior is still too plasticky...

My dad has the new GMC with All Terrain package. It's pretty slick.

I'm at GmC dealership in Lafayette about to trade my f250 in on a brand new GMC 1/2 ton. Tired of my Ford being in the shop. Should save some money.
Advice:
Stay away from any new diesel pickup. They don't know w t f they are doing with them. Brought my F250 in for a humming noise they kept it for 5 days and said they had it fixed. Didn't go 50 miles started doing the same thing. Got 54,000 miles, that's the 4th time it's been in the shop.

Lake Chuck Duck 10-14-2013 10:24 AM

Pics asap!

specktator 10-14-2013 10:55 AM

I can't upload pics for some reason.

Friend just bought a brand new Dodge Diesel. Having similar issues. Service light always on, DEF sensors, etc.
Not anymore though. Waiting for my Sierra to come out the wash.

My co-worker and neighbor each had one and both started to give them a lot of trouble at about 60K miles. They both traded them in.

Clampy 10-14-2013 01:48 PM

Those new diesels are a nightmare all makes and models. They would all be awesome if they removed all that dpf trash.

Thank the government for the diesel problems.

specktator 10-14-2013 02:22 PM

I got the All Terrain package. Mine doesn't have the steps on the rear bumper. It's 4x4 in Grey Metallic which is like blueish color. Black leather interior with nav and everything. Love it so far.

If you dont mind me asking, what did it run you? May be looking to get one. PM me if you want to.

specktator 10-14-2013 02:42 PM

Sticker was $49,000. I got it for $42,000. Got $39,000 for my F250 and owed $27,000 so I saved $100/month note getting in this one.

mriguy 10-14-2013 02:53 PM

That's one fine ride!!

SGib 12-30-2013 07:19 AM

Im about to trade in on a new truck. Want diesel but new emission systems are junk. Pops 2013 f250 threw check engine light on me on the way to and from the lease in the hills of west texas. 7.3 Never had a problem new one less than 30k and lights on. How do you like that gmc Spec?

Montauk17 12-30-2013 11:47 AM

Looks 100% better without the steps in the bumper. To me those steps ruin the truck.

I have 65000 miles on my 08 chevy duramax. No problems except my fuel filter housing had to be changed last year. Its one of the common problems with those. Not sure about the newer ones with the regens.

Clampy 12-30-2013 01:13 PM

We have a ton of duramax diesels and every single one after 08 is a pos. We have 2 08s with 300k on em and they run great. They throw every warming light in the book but still run good. Our 2012s are terrible. One truck I have had to get towed 8 times. It takes about 15 sec from 70 mph to 0 mph and won't start again.

Man I love it. Plenty of power and it rides so much better than my 3/4 tons.

Read this thread this morning and it made me ready to pull the trigger.

Signed the papers on a 2014 Sierra this afternoon.
Picking it up in the morning. Will post pics then.
Don't think I'm going to be able to sleep tonight! Pumped up!

Doesn't have all of the bells and whistles that they offer but it is far and away the nicest truck I have ever owned and my first brand new one too!

mriguy 12-31-2013 05:37 PM

That's really pretty Mako, love the color.

Thank you.

If you have the fever but aren't ready to buy don't go "look."
That's how they got me.
