Conservation goose hunts

Several of y'all have contacted me about conservation hunts. Monday through Wednesday next week the weather looks prime and the hunting will be awesome. We have lots of geese in the area already. These two fronts Friday and Sunday should push plenty more in. With no pressure this past week they should be relaxed and easy to work. $200 a gun. Shoot me a pm if your interested.

Damn that just gave me the itch. I have a few vacation days left I need to use before I lose them. I'll check in the morning see about taking one of them if you still have any spots open.

Well since the op said there were tons of geese in area then you post a pic of "roach clips"..

I just figured there would have been a bigger body of geese to make it worth your time and people's money to try and make a conservation hunt.

There is a bigger body in the area that was just in one of our fields. I'm not gonna go drive around and post pics of geese on others people property we can't hunt. If you know as much as you say you do then you know that if you have property (which some geese are already using) between the roost and the main field where the huge bodys (20,000 plus) are feeding. It's not hard to pull them off if you know what your doing. I won't lie to people on what I expect and what we're killing. On that note I scouted yesterday afternoon and set up on a field killed 3 by myself between 4 and 5:30. Went this morning with family and friend and nothing but specks. That would be why unless something changes I will be taking my "paying" customers (that you think I'm trying to rip off) to thornwell Monday morning. I'm not gonna take peoples money if I don't honestly think the hunt will be worth it. My policy is no kill no pay.

That was Friday in thornwell. We def should of had a good pile of birds. We were an hour behind schedule because we had to wait for one of the guys, We had a guy in a wheelchair that was a challenge to get concealed, moonpies looking up, and Missed shots. We did the best we could with the circumstances.

It's amazing to me how quick some of these people are to assume that no one else knows ANYTHING. And that they are the almighty on any particular subject matter.

Yep. They the ones that were prolly broke into the sport with erry thing they ever wanted and always crushed em! Some people actually do know how to grind for birds... They don't see it.

Gizzle if your referring to me you are truly a dumbass. When I was young we hunted on levees in a field a friend of the family let us hunt for free because my dad didn't have extra money for a lease or have a blind built. And like now, we killed great there. We kill because we know how to hunt. I love how people think we have magical fields that birds just pour into. I guarantee if I had your blind in pine island next year I would kill more specks than you have since you had it. I would be hunting specks, not trying to duck hunt to shoot 3 or 4 ducks a morning while doing those dumb calls you post vids of yourself doing. You wouldnt have to grind as hard for birds if you werent the dumbass you were

kibb 12-07-2013 03:37 PM

I pass near Thornwell every week. I don't know where you hunt at, but I do know the geese are loading up where 308 meets 99. There were hundreds on top of hundreds there Thursday.

AubreyLaHaye458 12-07-2013 05:04 PM

Talked to a couple guys at Cajun tackle yesterday that said they were heading out to Thornwell this week for CO hunting.

Lack of birds was not the problem there. It was more like thousands and thousands yesterday

I don't see us having a season anytime soon. With all the work they are doing to restore the whooping crane population we will not have a Sandhills season. They look to similar and shooting a whooping would be a risk. Just my opinion...

They are also working to reestablish wintering populations in LA.
