U dont have to go all the way to the weirs to play catch and release on redfish. Micah and I played a lil kayak catch and release after we hammered out our limit in about 30 min. Cast for Cast for about 2 hrs... Bonus trout was a lil under 3.5lbs. 2-9 ft deep. Didnt matter what you threw... but white seemed to get more steady bites.

The trout are there... we just had too much fun with the sleigh rides.

Good catch, is there a public launch paddling distance from Moss Lake?

Not sure where they launch but heard they launch yaks around haymark and that's almost right across from moss lake.

Great, where can I launch a kayak around Haymark?
I've been looking for a place to launch around there.

There arent any launches around Haymark unless you know someone. All the areas around there are posted or golf course property. Every place i used to launch from now has NO PARKING signs. Someone may know a lil more than me on this matter, but I used to fish it alot.

RAGINJROB 01-14-2014 10:00 AM

I don't know of any. I thought it had been private for a while.

That's what I thought, no place that I know of around Moss lake either.
Pretty long paddle from Calcasieu point.
