Timber Hunts
 

Hunted timber in the back of Sherbune Tuesday morning. Took a gator tail all the way to the back. It was quite an experience jumping trees in the boat to get back there. Shot a limit of mallards and a few teal and 1 woody.

Hunted this morning at my buddy's place in Columbia, LA. Limit in 45 minutes. 3 man limit of mallards 2 teal and a few greys. Could have shot 30 mallards. Got a banded greenhead. Was banded in Saskatchewan.

That's a awesome string of hunts. I'm already having withdrawals snd our season just closed last weekend.

If the weather was right, I would be big trout fishing right now but guess I'm gonna have to go smack some more mallards in the morning. Snowed a good bit here in Columbia this afternoon. Supposed to be 19 tomorrow morning.

I'm hooked on this crap now. Got all geared up and hunting ducks tomorrow and Saturday. Seeing the ducks cup up over the timber was cooler than watching a deer slip the woods. I'll post a report Sunday.

Great hunt.. Headed up to Tensas in the morning. Hoping for the same results.

That is an awesome hunt. Great Picture. Are you guys going by boat in Sherburne or walkin in? A few years back I was on a primitive weapons deer hunt off Section 120 Rd and the green heads were raining in, but the water was pretty high at the time.

Nice hunt, nothing like shooting mallards in the timber....:D

By boat on Krotz Springs side of Sherbune. But I know some guys that did well on ducks off Section 120 Rd this year. You just have to get out there wayyyy too early for me (3-3:30am) to beat everyone to the spots. Get in boat and you can get away from the people. Didn't hear one shot when we were hunting back there this past Tuesday.
