Man, that's really PATHETIC. I feel for you brother. Hope you get it back in one piece. Any chance you had OnStar? Because if so, it should be trackable by GPS. Even if your subscription / membership is expired. Maybe a cell phone left in there, and turned on? I'm sure you've probably thought of these things and discussed it with law enforcement, but just trying to think of anything that might help. Man, tough break, big time. I truly hope you get it back. I've never had a vehicle stolen, but I have had stuff stolen from my vehicles in the past. How sweet it would be to CATCH the piece of **** in the act! Good luck buddy.

Damn thieves, we need to adopt the middle east method of dealing with thieves. This happened to a guy a few weeks back in lake charles by the old lake charles tackle. Woke up to find his month old Chevy like this.

Its crazy with all of the technology the new trucks have in them that thieves still find a way to hot-wire them.

My cousin got his 2009 F-250 stolen from him I Houston a month ago.
Truck was locked and he had the keys.

sorry for your loss but I hafta ask, why do you leave your money and your gun in the truck?

I just sold my boat and was going to deposit cash today. And I bring my gun everywhere so I leave it in my truck. Didn't expect to have my truck stolen out of my driveway.

did you have window etchings? If so tell the cops that will definitely help identify it... They would have to replace all the windows to get rid of it.

That's what the guy at Bolton just told me. Not sure if I had it waiting on my salesman to give me a call back

I guess your area is better then mine. im living in laplace right now and around here cares get broken into as often as people get speeding tickets and at least once a week you hear someones vehicle is stolen.

I just found it odd that you wouldn't bring your gun inside at night so that's why I asked.

hopefully you get the truck back in decent shape, even if they catch the guy they don't do anything to criminals anymore, maybe a year in jail watching cable tv and playing video games is all that would happen to him.

Never leave anything of value in your truck! Yeah, that's hindsight, I know...Ford, especially Super Duty trucks are ridiculously easy to get into. They go in from the bottom of the outer handle and, grab a lock rod. Most of the time, you don't even notice the very minimal damage until you notice your internal belongings missing. I've had at least half a dozen Ford vehicles in the last year in my shop for forced entry repair.

I hope you at least find out where it went but, I wouldn't hold my breath if they were pros. Let me know if I can be of any assistance with your insurance claim. Best wishes.

Yup. Cash and your piece in your ride was asking for trouble. Living in NOLA has its disadvantages, but it learns ya real quick about stuff like this. Sorry for your loss.

This happen to my brother at Diamond Lake Apartments in Lafayette. 2 month old truck.

How the hell does that happen and no one sees or hears anything in an Apartment Complex? Takes a feller with a huge swinging set to pull that off.

Just today heard of a buddy in Uptown New Orleans that had that done to them. Brand new truck.

wow! how does that happen

because with those pretty little covers for the lug nuts on it nobody ever thinks about putting locking lugs on them. they use battery hammer drills to get the lugs off in 10-15 seconds each tire so it takes longer to jack it up then pull the wheels and toss em in the back of a truck and speed off. how often do you pay attention to a group of guys standing around a truck BS ing and you wont notice the guy underneath on the ground jacking it up. they are organized and work as a team like a pit crew so its like a quick snatch and grab thing after they get it all set up.

now that a set of tires costs you $800 plus the rims are around $800 each they got away with about $3,500-$4,000 worth of stuff right there.

makes for a quick "no questions asked" sale for $1,500-$2,000 out of the back of someones truck and they get well paid for the maybe 1 hour it took them to steal it.

how many of you guys right now have locking lugs on your truck? they aren't perfect but they can make the difference if its your truck that gets stripped or the guy parked next to you. remember thieves are lazy so make it as hard as you can on them and they might pick a different target.

As crazy as it may sound, lock your tailgates too! They steal them often and, they are expensive to replace!:work:

I also recommend care when purchasing safes, jewelry, gold, etc. to take care not to leave an easy trail back to the address where the valuables will reside. If a safe must be delivered to a home (thus connected to the address), it is best to bolt it well to a concrete floor and have a locksmith twiddle with the inside of the lock while the owner changes the combination to create a combination that only the owner knows. We also favor gated driveways or communities, especially when vehicles cannot be garaged. Criminals are reluctant to enter gated areas where unknown dogs, surveillance systems, motion detectors, and alarms increase their risks.

The importance of diligence cannot be overstated. We have frequently written down license plate numbers that seemed fishy and taken photographs of unfamiliar vehicles and things that seemed out of place in our quiet neighborhood. Yes, it is usually nothing more than a new service provider or landscaper, but if it turns out to be more, we've got a lot of investigative leads for police.

I might also mention that surveillance will hardly ever raise a red flag when a home or business is being cased unless it is reviewed at regular intervals for things that seem out of place.

They get around locking lugs too. What they do is go to the auto parts store and buy different sets of locking lugs with the adapter/key that fits in the lug wrench. From what I'm told, there are about 5 different keys. Maybe that was at that particular store, but it's a small investment for such a return.

I actually own a lock lug removal tool. It has yet to fail me. FYI, I ONLY USE IT FOR MY COLLISION CENTER!:rotfl::work:

Just make sure that everyone in your small town knows that you are the last M Fr that they want to F with. Has worked well for me so far. Even had a Sheriffs Officer tell one of my neighbors(after an incident)that of all the people on the street you could F with you picked this guy?

I have one too and have to use it pretty often. Never understood how people loose their dang lug nut key. Keep it in the glove box and it will always be there when you need it.

Damn dude! I'm thinkin it's someone living around the neighborhood. Cops seem to think it's some kids in the apartments but can't catch em. Been here for almost all my life and never once had a problem. Wake up one morning and my truck is gone. They'll get caught sooner or later. Hoping it's sooner.
