The vox takes the most air of all of them.they are harder than other calls but If you wanting to learn you can get a arkansas cut black monster or bsod.if you have facebook look up bryce decker, he makes the black monsters.my two monsters are the black river cut which is his heaviest cut

The vox mortem is made by black ops.i think they have a arkansas cut black monster on ebay for 60 bucks.type in cutdown duck call and it should be listed

Some good sounding calls. I don't think they would be good a good fit for the marsh I hunt the most. The ducks around me get call shy really fast.

Not trying to be rude just offering a little constructive criticism. To me it sounds like you are trying to blow a cutdown with the same cadence and air pressure of a conventional call. These calls are meant to be blown wide open under a heavy canopy where it is difficult for ducks to see your decoy spread. The times I've hunted public land in arkansas, if you didn't have two are three guys running the hell out of a cutdown you were not gonna break the ducks in your hole vs. the next group set up usually less than a hundred yards from you. I agree with quack head in saying that they do not fair well in a marsh environment due ducks being able to pin point you when you are calling loud out in an open setting.

Quackhead62 03-24-2014 09:24 PM

Yea I blew a mondo last year at the RNT shop in Arkansas but liked the Diablo more.

I don't totally agree with u there you can get really easy and ducky with a cut down. Normally u blow like hell in the woods just to catch there attention but when they ducks start working in good you back off to the single quacks snd feed calls. In my experiences hunting in Bayou Meto

I hear ya and I know I blow them different than what they were intended but they work where I hunt the way I blow em and am still learning the bark.im still play in with my air presentation.if they didn't work like I blow em I wouldn't use em.something around here they havnt heard and I was looking for something different and I found it with the cutdowns.

Ya I've been thinking about getting a bsod with his cut

I do like the rasp of it that's for sure. I have a cut down that some guys I hunt with in Bayou Meto make it sure is a different sounding call. It might be more raspy than that first call u are blowing

You talk in about a regulator?

Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

Quackhead62 03-24-2014 09:42 PM

Yes sir. I have hunted with Brian,JC, and Junior quite a few times in Bayou Meto.

You wont be disappointed. Never blown a bsod but the externals play very little into the tuning of a cutdown. Kirk cuts a smooth running call.

Stand up guys. They took me under their wing the first time I ever hunted that crazy *** place. We camped out with them at the boat launch a couple years in a row. I actually own a regulator call.

Quackhead62 03-24-2014 09:48 PM

There is no doubt that Kurt is a legend in the cut downs. But there are definitely some new ones on the map to look into

You ever ride in the boat with junior Quack?

Quackhead62 03-24-2014 09:50 PM

Yea they did the same thing with me and my friend for 5 years in a row. I think they were surprised that two guys from south la were as hardcore about shooting ducks as them

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

Quackhead62 03-24-2014 09:51 PM

Aww yea that boat hauls ***. Never rode with him in the boat race but took some test runs with him.
