YellowMouth hands down. If the holds the bait any better you would have to throw the whole jig away

yellow mouth almost need to cut them off, don't let your gulp dry up on a ymb jig head then you will definitely need to cut it off with a knife, pm jchief he can mail you some or you can pm bgizzle and pick some up in lafayette when he has some

jlincecum 03-27-2014 08:18 AM

pack and paddle also has some in Lafayette

Cripley 03-27-2014 08:43 AM

Yellow mouth go to Lake Charles Tackle great place and great advice

I fish with gulp a lot got tired of having to throw it away after one or two fish cause it wouldn't stay on now I will have chunks missing out of the gulp and it still be on

jchief 03-27-2014 09:16 AM

Simon Outfitters in Orange and Daley's Hunt n Fish in Nederland also carry them.

Are the jig heads painted or plain? If painted, what works best with Gulp? 3/8 size? Thanks

BassYakR 03-27-2014 10:09 AM

you can get em plain or painted... 1/8 oz is my preferred.... but some times you need 1/4 or even sometimes 1/16

fishfighter 03-27-2014 10:10 AM

much

i would say that 3/8oz are too heavy, 1/4oz or less, and they will tell you that jighead color doesn't matter, but i prefer red or white or chartruese, but they can fish better than me so listen to them, just have convinced my self that the colored ones work better, still trying the unpainted ones though

jlincecum 03-27-2014 10:40 AM

we have the 1/8 & 1/4 in painted versions. the 1/16 and 3/8 only come in unpainted.
painted ones are chart and white. we stopped making the red but there are still a few around

Depends on where you're fishing

speck-addict 03-27-2014 04:06 PM

Yellowmouth or if you are from the Lafayette area and know where OCR (Olivier Custom Rods) the gentleman in there makes some great jigheads, and will make them with any color head and also with or with out eyes. Give them a shot very good jig heads.
