SC You Getting Called Out
 

The list for the SC tourney is sad.
How many of you guys are soaking up the info and not even paying your $6 a month?
If you cant I understand. Family comes first. We all have to prioritize and make ends meet.
I've never fished a tourney(never caught a trout) but its gona be fun and a great cause.
Little Angels can have my $ no matter what happens to the tourney.

Count me in! More than likely wont get to fish as i get off that morning but more than happy to support a good cause!!

If you cant fish just swing in and grab a cold one with the guys. Your lunch is payed with your fee.

Y'all know i am friends w/ Bobby that runs little angels foundation. It would hurt me to the core to tell him that WE as a bunch of friends and a site couldn't garner enough interest to hold a tourney to support little angels. Not worried about a damn tee shirt or a prize. Just want to make a statement that we (all of us) at Salty cajun stand tall when we support something.

This disgusts me, honestly. If anyone has watched this site for the last several years, you'd know that I, along with others, have busted our butts to make a go of things charitable! I've headed up the Christmas families since 2010. My collision center has donated firearms to the auctions for the tourney whose recipients are unknown. I, along with friends have played music at a tourney, which cost me over $500 just to be there for the weekend, at which we did for free and donated all of the tips to whatever the cause was that year. I didn't even get to cast a line that year! I've signed up again this year and, wholeheartedly believe that we, as a site can make this deal huge! What I have seen thus far is dismal and, terribly disappointing!

Where are all those who cried about moving the tourney to July so that it wasn't so hot?! Where all of those who have walked away with way more in prizes than they did entry fees? Lastly, why didn't SC even make an official sponsor flier this year?...This one may get me a ban but, I'm alright with it. If WE aren't interested in doing this charity stuff any longer, let me know...It will save me COUNTLESS hours during the holidays!

I agree with Southern151. A flyer was used before and got posted on peoples facebook pages. It definitely gets the word out quickly. I guess this year only those who visit this site may know about it even happening.

Same here ! We have worked our butts off to do the christmas thing for the last few years . Not asking for any kudos, we just tell the recipients that it's from salty cajun.
Now that We ask the membership to support something we believe in and it falls out like a gut shot seagull? ***? If you can't do it Contribute . If You can't contribute entry fee kick in $10 . This is fixing to be embarrassing . Not only to corey and i but to the whole bunch that call salty cajun home.

I tried posting the flier that Little angels made on LAS But since it had Salty Cajun highlighted it wouldn't fly

Somebody get me a list of sponsors and I will make the flier, or I will just make one without sponsors

As the new guy and tournament newbie this is my take. I've only been here (sc) a year but have seen what Southern and Eman have put into Little Angels.
I for one have never fished a tourney of any kind and also have never caught a trout before. Im doing it for a good cause and I'll be fishing with my friend Ace. Im going to have fun for a good cause. Don't care about the shirt or any of the trophies.
No shirts and bring your own lunch. Let all the money go where its needed. Some fish stories and a cold one with the guys. Do we need more?

There's a flier that the Little Angels Foundation made on their own but, it lacks sponsors. I'm not even sure who, if anyone, is sponsoring this year.

It's hard to get sponsors when when they get no publicity for their charitable ways.

I genuinely thank you! Anyone here who may not like me on a personal basis needs to put that aside. I've seen what this foundation does and, have put my blood, sweat, tears, shop and, materials into it. What these folks do is something that we never want to think about having to make the call on but, they are there if the need arises. It's a tough conversation and, even tougher to walk through their shop...I've done it! It will make your toes curl to see the sizes of some of those caskets!

I couldn't care less about a fish. I do, however, care about supporting a cause that supports a community!

Not sure why anyone would dislike you.

I don't know why either but, in case that's their hold-up, I pray that they put that aside. What these folks do is something biblical, in my opinion.

I have not even clicked the tourney thread but I'll be participating. Not sure exactly what is going on but seems like there wont be a big turnout from reading this thread. I'll be sharing the flyer from here through tourney day to try and get some extra heads in on it...even if I have to drag people out with me. Last year was my first time fishing it, I fished it solo and had a great time at the weigh in etc and I'll be sure to be there this year so I can contribute.

I know you're good for it, Mike. Would love to see you and, the missus at the tourney as well. It looks like I'm renting a big camp over there, with plenty of room, if you and the wife don't mind having kids around!

We've got lots going on in July, we will try but I'm pretty certain it won't be possible,

So do I, unfortunately! We're in the process of selling our house (which the AC went out on today) and, buying a new one. We are to close on the 31st of July...there goes $14-15K! but, we're gonna roll with it! Again, if you and yours wanna come hang out, it will be me, Eman, the wife and, kids....Pretty early and, pretty quiet.

I got a 1000 dollars in raffle/auction (fishing stuff donated) not trying to toot my own horn just letting yall know there's going to be lots of good stuff given/auctioned again this year. Like posted above my group could care less about a shirt, we just like the fun at the weight in!!!!

Only thing I can think of is July is a busy vacation month for many people and our last few Tourny had been after school started back up and people were more settled down

Im paid and going tourney or not. If it gets cancelled leave your money in. We all fish till noon then have one heck of a fish fry after. No shirts, no trophies, and little angels gets a bigger share. Half a dozen fish cookers brought along and we're in business.

what is considered a "solid" turn out? looks like a bunch on this Thread signed up as well as myself and a buddy of mine, i just submitted my payment online

there was over 100 entries last couple years I think... id be willing to bet its close to 75 by now.. ive talked to a lot of ppl who have signed up today

Duckman, me and my group are up for that can even do it at the house, lot's of room for trucks and boats!!!got3 fryers already there. We can even have a skeet contest,there too.

I want to tell all of you who have signed up that I appreciate you each very much! Organizing events like this is very tough for those who have the task of doing so. Although I don't work on this event, I work on several others and, it's a lot of leg work, especially when it comes down to the wire, trying to get head counts.

I'm confident that we will have a solid turnout for the foundation. It is a little discouraging when low numbers come up so close to the event time though. I'm glad that this thread was posted. It has certainly gathered some extra attention!
