perfect weather for offshore fourchon
Well it has been months since I loaded the boat up and take her offshore will be running out of fourchon this sat. Weather look perfect, anyone else is making a trip offshore?

what are you targeting? If you are looking for tuna go to the west delta blocks in 85-200 ft of water and start looking for shrimp boats
We want to try our luck at black fin tuna, don't have a large enough ice box for yellow fin. Also will go for cobia and mangrove.

Buddy sent me this. Does this seem right?
Give or take a few miles. Last Friday they had a couple boats by wd117 and a few more further east in shallower water. Yesterday there were 7-8 boats in 120ish feet of water is what a guy in Venice told me.
If you see a shrimp boat in 80ft plus anywhere, stop and see if you are marking fish and throw a couple handfuls of chum at the back corner of the boat and be watching for fish coming out
Will do, thanks for the info
Hey Howard we will be down in Grand Isle Friday afternoon till Sunday afternoon looking for tuna and whatever else is biting. I've gotten a 30ft Century center console since we last talked we will be fishing the west delta areas if y'all want to buddy up give me a shout. We have a cabin at Bridgeside.

Chased shrimp boats most of the day but got wore out by sharks. Any word from east of west delta?
Was a rough day today guys, One of my trailer tail light burnt out, caught a blow out on the trailer half way there, and while launching the boat forgot to put the PLUGS IN..
Any ways decided to fish South Tim for mangrove and cobia, Did not find any cobia but we did find the Mangrove snapper but couldn't get them to eat the bait. The mangrove would eat the Chum(cut pogy) but wouldnt eat the one with the hook in it(free line with small circle hook with 40Lb fluorocarbon)\ We Caught a few of them and called it a day |

^^ I've had them do that many times. 20# floro and make sure your leader is 3' or longer and hide the hook really good.
We only had 40 lb on the boat, the water was real clean.
And don't use swivels. They can see them a Mile away.
Sometimes they don't care and sometimes they will scrutinize it beyond belief. |
Go down to 30lb , then 20lb never use a swivel also get some thin wire hooks , they suck but sometimes that is what it takes .n be patient sometimes I feed out so much line n don't get a bite until thebait had drifted behind the boat
Also those sucker can bite the hell out of you..
