Days on the water per year

How much do y'all get on chasin em? Since I've stopped fishing college tournaments I haven't been after them nearly as much. Went from pretty much every weekend to maybe once every other month. I obviously feel I would fish much better if I spent more time in the water. How about y'all?

legallimits 02-24-2015 03:16 PM

Wish I was out there every day. Only out there maybe once a month. Still thinking about being out there every day.

BassYakR 02-24-2015 03:23 PM

1-2 days a week now.... when time changes and afternoon fishing is more worth it itll be 3-4 days per week

"W" 02-24-2015 04:11 PM

I have 100 paid charters last year and was on the water probably 150-180

Bumfisherman 02-24-2015 04:53 PM

At least 8 days a month now. But, we are about to be living full time in Hackberry so I hope I can fish 15 or so days a month.

eman 02-24-2015 05:29 PM

8 - 10 days a year these days

sweets 02-24-2015 05:30 PM

I try to keep records - 43 days last year and 5 so far in 2015. I wish it was more.

ifsteve 02-24-2015 05:42 PM

I too keep records. Between trout fishing out west and down here I get out about 50 times a year. Been out 13 times so far in 2015.

marshrunner757 02-24-2015 05:55 PM

Probably 75 on average. Not enough for sure.

wishin i was fishin 02-24-2015 06:21 PM

40+ per year. not enough though...like marshrunner said.

Goooh 02-24-2015 06:52 PM

40-50 a year most years, 10-15 last year. Worked myself into too much on my plate, and my kids played football for the first time which stole half my summer and all my fall!

This year is shaping up to be different though, got relief to cover the work side of things now.

Man this really makes me sad, I remember when I fished 2-4 days a week .... Last year I made MAYBE 5 trips... I think I'm gonna sell my boat ... Man I wanna cry just thinking about it

Same here. Before my little girl was born in January of 2014 I was on the water a minimum of 4 days a month. Since then I have been on the water 6 days and that was all in one trip to Gand Isle during snapper season.

I think it's time to sale the boat to someone who will be able to enjoy it more and hope to be able to buy another one when the little one is old enough to join me on the water.

After being at work Monday - Friday and barely getting to spend time with my daughter it's hard to voluntarily leave her on the weekends to go fishing. Wouldn't trade it for anything though!

Fish all you can now! Seriously...

Dogface 02-24-2015 11:37 PM

100-120 plus 65-70 days/year hunting.

specknation 02-25-2015 12:18 AM

Between freshwater and saltwater trips estimate 110-125 days last year.

jpeff31787 02-25-2015 06:36 AM

Think I went 74 times last year. The closest body of water that I fish is 45 minutes away, so that makes it kind of hard and then so far this year, I've only seen home 16 or so times. Crazy busy at work

MattMigues 02-25-2015 08:00 AM

2-4 days a week or every other time I can sneak off!

MathGeek 02-25-2015 09:11 AM

40-50 times a year.

southern151 02-25-2015 09:16 AM

One day a month and, there's a pond in my back yard! UGH!

saute86 02-25-2015 12:55 PM

Twice a week outside of deer season and rain days.

Once daylight savings starts (March 8) there will be time to fish after work.

I've also noticed that how I spend my time over the years has depending a lot on my children. Get your children into fishing, and you'll spend a lot more time doing it. I am blessed to have one teen who loves to fish and a second teen who loves to shoot. Budgetary approvals are also much easier to come by if it is for something the children like too.

Certainly looking forward to the extra daylight and, so is my son! Once he figured out how to cast on his own, he's like a little fishing machine!:)
