We were doing some test runs with it yesterday. It was a good day to give any boat a workout.

How was it?What kind of numbers is it seeing?

Here are some side-by-side comparison photos of the new 256 (white) sitting next to a 224 (black). Sorry about the picture quality but it was starting to get dark.

It ran 57 MPH with 4 people in the boat, 3/4 tank of fuel, 4 batteries, trolling motor, and 2 power poles. This boat is an absolute beast. The ride was incredibly soft and dry in very rough conditions on Big Lake.

Ride was excellent. Very dry even when we tried to make it wet. Very heavy boat but will run in the upper 50's with a load.

bobo23 04-23-2015 09:54 AM

Beautiful boat.

alphaman 04-23-2015 11:13 AM

Dang the 224 looks tiny Compared to the 256. Is it rated for a 300 or could a 350 be slapped on the back

ckinchen 04-23-2015 11:22 AM

Can't see it with my phone is that a yam 300 on the back?

alphaman 04-23-2015 11:23 AM

Did they keep the same diamond grid finish in the interior of the boat, or did they go with a textured type finish?

Cutty713 04-23-2015 01:01 PM

Did it fit through the weir???

I'm not sure what you are referring to as a diamond grid finish, but the textured flooring on both models consists of a pattern with tiny ovals. It is very easy to clean

shellman 04-23-2015 06:36 PM

Price they both look nice.....

yigodiver 04-23-2015 08:35 PM

Blackjack make a great boat!

Goooh 04-23-2015 08:40 PM

Lines are great, console looks real big, seat looks real far if you actually want to sit comfortably and drive.

Addressing these two things would clear up mid section space (shrink console and bring seat closer, and give more room or allow more deck space.

Could just be the pics though

homerun 04-23-2015 08:42 PM

The drivers seat does look too far back to be comfortable sitting and drive on long runs. Maybe camera angle. Everything else excellent

Bill Kenner said the leaning post will be moved 4 inches forward for a more comfortable driving position. I recall him telling me that the leaning post was inadvertently installed 4 inches aft of where it was supposed to be in haste to make it to their first boat show with the new rig. The new console is large but it works very well on the larger hull and there is absolutely no shortage of deck space or walk-around space on this rig. It is very spacious

Not sure yet. Riding in the new one put some ideas in my head that I didn't have before! I still absolutely love my 224 though. The 25 is a whole different animal.
