Saltwater license up 135%
This may have been discussed before, but today I went to renew my licenses, and everything remained the same except for the saltwater license-up from $5.50 to $13? How can they justify that kind of increase? Started not to get one on principle-but I did anyway. :shaking:

Well the WLF just placed 4 new reefs in Big Lake as oyster pads
|
but you can win a new boat!!
did lifetime at 47yrs old knew this was coming |
$13 for some of the best saltwater fishing in the United States
we still got it real good |
Lifetime and avoid the hikes. Won't be long and a lifetime is gonna end up being 1k

I know what ill be asking for for my birthday.
|
Well, its not as bad when you think of it over 12 months unlike duck stamps over 2 months.
|
Come on $13 dollars, lets see that breaks down to 7 cents per trip on average for me to saltwater fish. It's the best bargain our state has to offer.
|
What pisses me off is out of state didn't increase
|
I just completed the application and wrote a check for the Lifetime Hunting and Fishing License.
|
The Lifetime license has always been a great deal for Hunting and a good deal for fishing.
This is what I was buying for Hunting every year: Basic $15.00 Big Game $14.00 Muzzleloader $10.50 Archery $10.50 State Duck Stamp $5.50 WMA Permit $15.00 TOTAL OF $70.50 LIFETIME HUNTING $300.00 (4.25 years recovery time) Fishing License: Basic $9.50 Saltwater $13.00 TOTAL OF $22.50 LIFETIME FISHING $300.00 (13.33 Years Recovery Time) You do get a slightly better deal with the Combo for $500.00 which is what I did. I also bought my kids their lifetime license prior to them turning 5 years old. For $200.00 this is a no brainer and I encourage any of you with small children to make this investment. |

I was used graduation money to get my lifetime combo when I was 18. Solid investment....
I have since purchased combo's for both niece and nephew before they turned 2. |

15 by Lambert 15 by Washout area 15 on Com pt These will be off limits to oyster dredging for at least 2 years from WLF They did one behind the old jetties several years back but it was silted up and all oysters died |

I was told by WLF that the lifetime "hunting" license only includes the "basic" license and everything else you need for hunting still must be purchased separately. the guy said lifetime "fishing" license only covers basic "fresh" and basic "saltwater" licenses and anything else needed must also be purchased separately. since I don't hunt I just bought the lifetime fishing for $300 |

He was wrong! But I don't think it covers the duck stamp. |
Quote:
Already $90 for annual basic/SW. |
duck stamp is essentially the only thing it doesnt cover. covers everything else except running nets and traps and stuff like that
|
Lifetime hunting and lifetime combination hunting and fishing licenses include basic hunting, big game hunting, muzzleloader, bow hunting, state duck license, turkey license, and WMA Hunting Permit.

You still have to get your deer tags but when they put your lifetime license number in the computer (or DL#) it spits out your deer tags. I even got my daughter's deer tags last year with her lifetime license number. |
