Saints

Looks like Saints GM and Head Coach are in panic mode.. They cleaning house, terminating contracts.. Another all-pro Offense guard was terminated.. 2 starting LB's let go...

Saints are a shell of their old self.. We better get use to loosing season... It won't be long that the bags will be out again...

Just my humble opinion.

Cappy 02-12-2016 06:30 PM

What won the superbowl?? Against a very high powered offence. With that in mind we aint winning much any time soon.

all star rod 02-12-2016 08:28 PM

Apparently the Saints are not winning a lot games with these players they just let go....ever thought of that?? And rob ryan was not the issue....it was the players.

"W" 02-12-2016 08:38 PM

Saints are below avg team and have been 75 years
Had 1 freak accident year and won SB
Never going to happen again for another 100

Bree's got his 100 Million and sucked every year afterwards

Saints don't win 8 games a year for the next 5 years

Of all the downright dumbass, immature things you have ever posted on this site.....this post right here, shows you may well indeed be a junior varsity cheeleader..........OMG............

LOL.........just rubbing you ole boy! you made your point though

Cappy 02-13-2016 03:03 PM

sheesh I saw the first Saints game. and I aint even 60 yet. But defence wins games if it weren't for the defence the Bronco's wouldn't have ahd a chance. Actually Peyton had a pretty sucky game his stats were horrible. With bottom third defence we dont stand a chance no matter how good brees an crew is.

swampman46 02-13-2016 04:00 PM

As long as coach's and management's philosophy is to trade players while they "have value", we will probably never see a return to SB. What a twisted way of thinking. They have trading value because they're good. Hello! Those are the kind of moves that have killed brees's performance/career. I'm sure someone here has the answer to this but, how many players from the SB team were released BEFORE the next season? Shocky, Henderson and who else? And let's not even talk about the Jimmy Graham trade-what a total FAIL!

Please explain why the Graham trade was a failure? Do you know what the Saints received in return?

According to reports Graham was a locker room CANCER, as for as the other cuts go "That's just business"
Every Team cuts players.

We definitely got the better end of the graham trade.

BayBolt23 02-14-2016 09:22 AM

In the Graham trade we received a good center that we needed and a 1st round draft pick which we got Anthony! Who is very good too!

Duck Butter 02-14-2016 09:26 AM

Graham isn't worth a flip without a Bree's caliber qb throwing to him. Brees made jimmy graham a TON of money Brees can make a good receiver from garbage

BayBolt23 02-14-2016 10:28 AM

^^^^This^^^^^

biggun 02-14-2016 10:40 AM

I would not say Max Unger was a great trade....... Im mo humble opinion he didn't have a great yr... He's a OK center.

Hopefully we can turn the draft picks into some awesome defensive talent...

"W" 02-14-2016 10:46 AM

Since Drew Bree's got his 110mill contract how many playoff games has he won ?

Just curious

BayBolt23 02-14-2016 11:18 AM

He only gave up one sack! Big upgrade from previous years!

Seriously ? Maybe you should watch more closely. Unger was one of the top centers in pro football last year

meaux fishing 02-14-2016 11:59 AM

http://whodatdish.com/2016/01/30/new...iew-max-unger/

You could maybe say that center Max Unger had a quiet season for the New Orleans Saints, but that doesn’t mean his impact wasn’t felt. The trade that shocked the entire football world involved Unger and the Seattle Seahawks first round draft pick come to New Orleans for tight end Jimmy Graham. At first, fans were beside themselves. Honestly, a center for an All-Pro tight end?

However, it wasn’t just any center. Unger was one of the league’s best, and had been fairly consistent since entering the league in 2009. We really saw the bigger picture of Unger’s impact when ESPN’s Brian Burke acknowledge the Seahawks’ offensive line struggles without him in the mix.

Unger committed only two penalties in 2015, which was a false start and offensive holding to be specific. Unger was the true ‘Iron Man’ of the New Orleans Saints squad, playing in 99.8 percent of the offensive snaps. That’s right, Unger missed only two snaps out of 1,184 total. That’s just incredible.

As far as protecting quarterback Drew Brees, Unger allowed only one sack and one hit all season. Per Pro Football Focus, Unger finished as the league’s fifth highest center in pass blocking efficiency with a 98.4 rating. Unger finished 2015 with a +4.6 overall grade, which was highlighted by a +5.9 in pass blocking.

The Saints ended up being on the winning side of the trade from last March. Unger, and not to mention Stephone Anthony (originally Seattle’s 31st overall pick), both added plenty of value to the New Orleans Saints. Ultimately, protecting Drew Brees in what’s likely the last years of his playing career takes precedence, and Unger is the right guy for the job.

BayBolt23 02-14-2016 12:34 PM

Thanks for clearing that up Bob!

biggun 02-14-2016 04:12 PM

Bob.. Thks for all that info..

x2 and he didn't make a very good point, they had a 10 year stretch better than most franchises, these types of comments would make soooo much more sense if since i've been alive, the Bears - 0 super bowls , saints - 1

chicago clearly has a better franchise but that's the numbers, similar to the cowboys

tojoe 02-15-2016 12:31 PM

Why isn't the govornor threatening to cancel the Saints season????

BloodKnot 02-15-2016 03:38 PM

Black and Gold SuperBowl!!

Saints plan to draft the next Von Miller in this year's draft and the rest will be history...Someone needs to start building a bigger trophy case!

HA!

On a side note the home schedule for this coming year looks so much better than that 2015 schedule of the Titans, Jags, etc.

ya, well they have been "planning" to draft pro bowl players every year and almost without exception get practice team level players only.

the entire draft selection personnel need to be shown the door for a crew that can spot talent and not draft only on the basis of "potential".

no team drafts great every year but few have draft classes as bad as the saints do year after year.

the general manager and his ridiculous multi million dollar guaranteed contracts for players on the decline or who are unproven to be the same players they used to be, coming off of injuries, is what is killing this teams ability to fix all the glaring problems they have

You don't think last year was a good draft? Peat is gonna be a really good player, Anthony is a a beast, Kikaha showed flashes of great play, Swann would've had a great season minus the 3 concussions, Davidson became a regular rotational player on the D line. It wasn't the best draft ever but we hit way more than we missed.

We did okay last year. Its the years previous to that where we missed.

BloodKnot 02-17-2016 11:07 AM

Brees is on his last leg. We will hopefully find the next great QB (Brady was a 6th rounder). But I hope we build a physical team and bring back the Dome Patrol.

I think Peat is a great draft pick that will bear its fruits this year and the years to come. I wish we would have used our 7th round pick last year on Collins...Cudos to Jerry for getting the best O-lineman last year for nothing...

Baychamp1 02-17-2016 09:51 PM

Ok so what did we see in this years Super Bowl, the oldest quarterback in the league, not turning the ball over, winning the game, with a great defense. Defense wins Championships, Saints need a defense. On a side note Hussein Obama's a Bears fan also. Ha!! Also part of Bensons sweetheart deal is his high rises are leased out to the state of La. Gov't Offices, like it,love it or leave it, we're all tied in to the Saints.
