I know my way around the pool, but I do not know the ponds by name like some people. Anyone care to label this the best they can?

No problem, I've ran the east side before but couldn't tell anyone where I was if even if I wanted to, curious to the names though. |
Duffy, good to see that you're as confused as I am out there!

im having a hard time findng out how to lable on google maps then screenshot off a computer, until then ill do the best i can, what hes calling little north is the north and whats hes calling north is the little north, the size doesnt match up but thats what everyone ive ever fished around called them, what he has as south is lil egypt, and "twin sisters" are actually the south flats, but i know people who call them twin sisters as well, blue and black grove are right , to the north of "twin sisters" and the south of "little north is of course lone cypress, and to the east of it are the duck pens, directly South South
East of the South launch is the target area, and the east side is the east side, consisting of the east canal and east flats, if someone can help learn to lable things on a map i could lable them onto it for smaller area names |
what hes calling the "little north" is the north and what hes calling the "north" is the little north, the size doesnt match up but people have been calling them that for years, idk why, blue and black grove are right, what hes calling "south" is lil egypt and "twin sisters" are the south flats but i know people that call them "twin sisters" as well, the the north of "twin sisters" and south of "lil north" is of course lone cypress, and to the east of it are called the duck pens, directly South South East is the target area and the east side is the east side, no special names, if someone can help me learn to lable a map on here i can lable some smaller named areas

I may be taking my wife there to catch some bream.
I have never fished there. What general area would anyone suggest? |
I heard it's a 40 HP max in Lacassine.
This might sound dumb, but ....... Is there someone on duty, or something, that stops people from going there with a 50HP, 60HP, 70HP or whatever ?? |
GW do make their rounds. Not sure what the fine would be but I'm sure it would and should be steep for a blatant offense as such.

also the duck pens are northeast of twin sisters and east south east of lone cypress, and the target area is a little more north east, but this is base and will work
|
bass yakrs is pretty accurate , but what yall are calling south pond ive always called lil Egypt which is what a lot of the old timers called it
|
Ive heard it called that aswell... everyone i fish with calls it south pond tho...
|
Anyone know where the dynamite hole is?
|
Never heard of it Duffy

probably the target area. |
Yeah. I have been told that they used to do some kind of target practice with the planes from Chennault out there a long time ago. Whether that's a fact or not, I don't know.

That's interesting.
Regarding Duffy.yyz's post, would they have had any reason to use dynamite out there? |
I was noticing Friday that the Little North Pond had some deeper-than-average areas than I found in the South Pond.
And if you're traveling the main canal from the North Ponds down to the South Pond (I kinda like "Lil Egypt"), there's a kinda square area on the left that looks fairly deep, though I didn't stop and fish it. Maybe it was an old oil platform or something? |

Anybody have any new or old pics of the Pool during a drawdown or a drought?
|
They should close the place for a couple years and do more bomb practice....clean some more deeper holes out
|
I know where the hole is
|
Best I could do for historical data

Yeah I was thinking that too, did the pool get any salt water intrusion? |

There was salt water intrusion from Rita. Caught plenty of crabs in the pool and Bell City drainage ditch.
|
There have been reds in the pool, from what I have heard.
