seachaser250 08-16-2016 04:00 PM

I'm not exactly following the humorous part to this. Is it supposed to be a joke and if so why?

jchief 08-16-2016 04:12 PM

Bass Pro shop in Denham is flooded.

Goooh 08-16-2016 06:13 PM

Boohoo, laugh a little and quit acting like Hillary

bayouchub 08-16-2016 06:17 PM

Not really funny at all.

Chip Landry 08-16-2016 06:21 PM

Our regional safety guy at work is on the pro staff there and teaches a lot of the hunter/bow safety classes. I emailed him today and jokingly asked when the "flood damage" sale starts.. He said the store didn't get water inside. .

When you have lost so much and then your job on top funny doesn't
figure into the equation.

Now if someone posted a meme or joke about your house being flooded, that might cause a chuckle I could understand.

See how that doesn't sound to funny?

times like this what else can you do but look for the positive aspects of life. why sit and wallow in the negative? ive seen and been through a lot in the last few days, but I woke up this morning thanks be to God and I've got a clean slate to do better than yesterday. laughter cures more than you think. Lighten up.

Yes it sure does. However laughter at the expense of others misfortune does not.

GasCan 08-17-2016 09:27 AM

in this instance whos the misfortunate? yes they may be out of work for some unknown amount of time. but there are assistance programs in place for those out of work. able bodies who are out of work are out and about helping the community clean up while they're out of work. bass pro is insured to the gills and the inventory will most likely be paid for at retail cost so they make even more money.

jokes about the flooding disaster in general are in bad taste. If you can't understand that...then there is nothing else to discuss here.

alphaman 08-17-2016 09:40 AM

My joke was about the products. Never about the people. Fishing reels poles baits etc.

it's about your perception of the joke and what you took from it. I took it in the same manner of the person that posted it. light hearted and all about the material items. I have friends that I went get Saturday. I docked my boat at their 2nd story balcony to get them out of their house. If they can joke about it and make light of the situation anyone can. they lost everything in Katrina and again this past weekend. it's all in your perception. best wishes

It's bass pro, and it never bothers anyone when funny memes are posted about shooting victims. Just because it's close to home doesn't mean the rules change

Been through major flood, have helped many friends and family through major floods. So yes I know what yall are going through. Humor and funny things is all that's left. It helps alot!!!

Your alive,is the only thing that matters!! There was a time in your life you had nothing and built what you had, and in time you can and will build it again, probably even better!! But you got to stay positive and keep on keeping on!!

My grandparents at the age of. 75&80 lost 60 year's worth of belongings and house, in ike. And they are happier now then ever. If they can do it At there age anyone can!!

So take a joke and get some release from the stress or stay butt hurt and mad. But butt hurt and mad not going to fix a thing!! Hopefully you will come to understand stand that soon. It was nothing you did and nothing you could do. It's just a bad thing that happens to good people sometimes !!

Matt G 08-17-2016 10:04 PM

People butt hurt about people being butt hurt. This is a new one for me. I think they make a cream for that....... Anyway, what do y'all think this flooding will do to the teal for the upcoming season?

fishinpox 08-17-2016 11:16 PM

Look I was in the go devil manufacturing plant all day Saturday helping warren lift motors , boats, tools etc. then phone ringing off the hook from rent house with roof leak .... Go fix it . Spend next to days on a boat rescuing people from flood , Tuesday I gutted a friends how with about 40 people , today we gutted another friends house . The whole while cannot locate 70% of my labor that builds houses for me. So I will throw out there that I'm pretty tired .... Maybe this thread just pisses me off because I'm tired but I don't think so , I've never seen so many crying moms, scared kids , dads wondering how the f they are gonna make it out of this one.... I think this is a very poor choice in jokes .

None of which took on water.

seachaser250 08-18-2016 08:25 AM

Seriously, is there a 50% off sale or what??????

fonikoddity 08-18-2016 02:46 PM

Anyone who doesn't feel for the folks who've lost everything are a**holes. Anyone who can't make light of the situation has more to lose.

FYI my house flooded twice in 3 years...I put a picture of my flooded house on the back of my first record.
