Hoping northwind blows long enough

Last few northwinds to blow down on johnson Bayou were not long enough to clear the surf. Hoping it clears by Thursday

Roy123 06-06-2017 08:37 PM

Stuck at work till Saturday. Post up if you go so I can know what it looks like. Willing to bet Thursday and Friday are the days to go.

neverenuf 06-07-2017 12:34 PM

Storms and strong wind yesterday kept the 1st 500yds very cloudy yesterday. I went yesterday evening and there is some bait coming up but couldn't get anything to bite. Friday morning should be the best time. Thursday should be good as well.

Winds suppose to switch back to the east and southeast late Thursday evening. Would have rather waited til Friday but looks like Thursday will be the day. Two days wasn't enough to clear it up the last few times but u never know unless u go. Looks like I'll be giving it a try thursday

MEM1971 06-07-2017 01:05 PM

Neverenuf please let us know wat the water looks like this evening

One year ago!

I was planning on hitting the beaches from my boat on Friday morning. It'll be my first time running to them. Anything I need to be aware of? Sunken rock piles or anything?

MEM1971 06-07-2017 01:26 PM

I only ran by boat a few times myself. Last year almost to the date the guide boats were way up on the beach catching fish in very first troughs.

BassAssasin 06-07-2017 01:52 PM

ill be out there friday

MEM1971 06-07-2017 02:24 PM

I'd like to wait til Friday but with the east and southeast winds due to return late Thursday I'm going to go in am. If for some reason it blows out the north longer than predictt and looks like it will be worth it I'll head back again Friday. I'm just hoping it's at least fishable

"W" 06-07-2017 03:03 PM

It's a 50/50 shot
It's on or not

I wish we had just one extra day of north winds but we don't so looks like Tommorrow is only shot

Dleblanc1 06-07-2017 03:26 PM

Went this morning the water is starting to clear up will be going this afternoon will give a report.

redaddiction 06-07-2017 03:47 PM

Windfinder app shows light winds Friday even though it's southerly. So should still be good.

MEM1971 06-07-2017 04:40 PM

Was wondering same thing redaddictionon. Dleblanc1 that would be great if u post water condition and location from this evening

Dleblanc1 06-07-2017 06:49 PM

Well went back to the jetties between holly beach and Johnson bayou and ride was way out water wasn't as pretty as eairler today prettiest water was from holly beach going back towards the ship channel. Incoming tide should push good water in if north wind holds up. Good luck in the morning

neverenuf 06-07-2017 10:27 PM

Water looks good but they did issue a swimming advisory due to high levels of flesh eating bacteria for little Florida beach.

MEM1971 06-08-2017 04:24 AM

Thx. Them warnings are well taken but have been doing it since I was a kid. I keep alcohol and other goodies in my first aid kit. And use them on the slightest scratch! Thx. On my way!!!

BassAssasin 06-08-2017 10:01 AM

Sabine lake!! Where else?

bgough8907 06-08-2017 03:46 PM

Think with the weather conditions the way they are that the fishing in the big lake will be worth a damn tomorrow morning? Weather Channel is showing ENE Winds @ 5mph in the am.

Dleblanc1 06-08-2017 04:14 PM

How was the water on the beach today thinking of going back in the morning if the wind stays out of the north. Thanks in advance.

Mlab12 06-08-2017 04:42 PM

Hopefully that East wind tonight wont mess those beaches up. That's a long way to go if the water isn't clear!

BassAssasin 06-08-2017 09:28 PM

That winds shifting already, I fear I will be pulling up to muddy waters. But I gotta try

Stay away today! East wind ruined it.

MEM1971 06-09-2017 02:58 PM

Hard outgoing tide along with the wind switching back and forth from east to northeast already had water dirty by time I left yesterday evening. I believe , but not sure, I saw W fishing the rocks off little Florida. Solid black mercury on back. Watched them boat several. The best run of the day was between 12 and 2pm. Nothing like catching 3 and four pound trout one after the other. Of course as often happens I kept smaller ones early and then find the bigger ones. Mullet, Croaker, and pink top dogs were doing the most damage. Once the water dirty up they were hitting the pink top water and not touching he croaker or mullet

BassAssasin 06-09-2017 10:09 PM

They still bit today.
