I no this is a dumb question but here goes. How do you get and how much would a boat stall be at Heberts? Do u have to be a guide? Do u have to own a camp?Just asking gets old draging my boat so often.

B-Stealth 02-03-2010 09:35 PM

Be put on a very long waiting list.

adamsfence 02-03-2010 09:36 PM

a few questions.........Quickest way R U A millionaire? If not how old are you? If your 35 or younger call now you should have one by 70.....

jchief 02-03-2010 09:54 PM

Spicers was $1200 a year, but I believe it has gone up

ckinchen 02-03-2010 09:56 PM

I just had a lift installed at my new camp in Hackberry, the cost was about $2,600 from Lun-Mar (just up the road on 27) just for the lift. I was on the list at Spicers for a while but didn't get in before my camp was completed.

I stored my boat at Ship-Shore near the intercoastal for about six months, nice place.

Shawn Braquet 02-03-2010 10:15 PM

alright

"H" 02-03-2010 10:24 PM

I've been on the list at spicer's now for about 5 years, stayed in their motel rooms a lot, spent a lot of money there on bait, ice, gas, etc. over the years. NO BOAT SLIP YET!
Pretty much give up on the idea.

I agree with you, it gets old pulling my boat from Baton Rouge

specktator 02-03-2010 10:40 PM

Yeh I hate pulling mine fro
lafayette. Especially when I start going 3 and 4 times a week during the summer.

mikedatiger 02-03-2010 10:59 PM

Check at Ellendors - (Ship to Shore) - they still have some spaces. No boat lift, but it's only a few hundred yards from the launch.

"H" 02-03-2010 11:03 PM

I talked to the lady that owns Ellendors a year or two ago.
I couldn't afford her rates, don't remember exactly but I think it was $200> per month.

Yeah that's too high for me.

"H" 02-04-2010 08:27 AM

I think see has here phone number posted on a sign just south of the Ellendor Bridge.
Might give here a call & just check.

Someone on this site (I met at Pete's, from Texas) had his boat stored there.
Maybe he could give us an update if he reads this thread.

catch.and.fillet 02-04-2010 09:19 AM

I'm there. It's worth it instead of hauling down the highway. Includes power and water so I keep an old frig there for ice and drinks and it's easy to wash the boat down. Some improvements are being planned at the Park I understand.

biglaketiger 02-04-2010 11:05 AM

Call Mr. Arnie Natalie, he is the developer at Heberts..

I have a slip there. Yes there is a waiting list and you don't have to be a resident. I hear the list is quite long BUT you never know when a spot may come up. The cost is $1,600 a year and he sends out the invoices in late may to early June and the total is due then. If you are so lucky to get a call about a lift being available you get the stall in the agreement and that's it. You are responsible for all the maintenance. If you get a stall you and the previous renter settle on a price for the equipment that is already installed.

I think it may have been me that you ran into, Pure Bay 2400 with a suz 300. My term ends at Ellendor next month as my new camp is now complete but we have been very happy with the storage. I paid $870 for six months of storage which is $145 per month. Send me a PM and I will send you the email addres and phone number of the person you need to talk to in order to start the shed rental.

calcutta37 02-04-2010 11:40 AM

specktator 02-04-2010 01:43 PM

That was me H. PM me if you need details and I'll be happy to fill you in. Only deal with storage is you have whole year up front. Storage unit she gave me is huge - 14' X 40'. Has outlets and lighting, and there is water outside of the units. I am a big fan - just make sure you have Skeeter spray - they will carry you away.

Olmsted Shipyard has a couple of strap lifts, covered, but you will have to leave from Contraband Bayou. Long run to Big Lake.

Across the road from Bennigans and East side of the bayou.
At one time, it was $110/month. Nothing special, but it is covered.
