Pros / Cons BlackJack Boat
Thinking of buying a Blackjack Boat. Looking for advice/experiences of current owners. Looks like an awesome setup and fishing platform.
|
Any boat built by the Kenner family is a quality product. These include Frontier, Blackjack, and pre 2005 Kenner boats. I have a Kenner and love it. I have never heard a bad review of a BlackJack
|
not an owner but the boat scores an A in my book
I think they run mid to upper 50's with a load |
Great boat!!
There is one for sale at metro boating in Nola. 34k powerpole trimtabs bobs jackplate minn Kota 36 v 62 in shaft with a 225 Honda. |
Loved mine
Ran one for about 2 years when I was guiding and loved the boat. Best riding boat I have ever been in. Only reason I sold it is because I could not keep up the note when I quit guiding. The fit and finish are great. I am in the process of buying a 210 Frontier now.
Bill knows how to build a boat Ask any question you have and I will try and answer them |
Thx Guys, have heard nothing but good things about the Kenner Family boats. Saw the one at Metro Nola. They said had 700 hours on the 07 Honda, sounded like alot for a dealer demo, but would come with a new boat and motor warranty. Don't see alot of used ones around, owners must be very happy with them.
|
Don't own one, Had an older Kenner by the Kenners.
Know several people with Blackjacks and Frontiers Great reputation Schweeeeat looking and all around greta boats. |
700 hours on an 07 in that bay system, boat has been beat pretty hard
|
If I had the money I would get a blackjack ! I'm buying me a frontier in may ! It can't come soon enough !

great boat. I own the frontier and love it! Personally, imo, if you get a blackjack get the 250 on it!
|
Drost, isn't that frontier for sale??? I'd get that before spending the cash on a blackjack........
|
are blackjacks rated up to 300? shame if not
250 is minimum IMB |

Sure is! ;) |
There ya go fishn4fun..........real sharp looking boat too!!!

i know...W should have put the 300 on that heenie |
hell the boat can't handle the 225 much less a three
|
max on blackjack is only 250
|
Usually if it is a 22' fiberglass the max is 250.....you see 300 for the 24' boats!
|
those days are ending tho
|
USCG regulations, anything over 20' is not hp rated.
20' 1" = Unlimited HP. Boat manufacturers can limit HP for any reason. |

I had a 225 Opti on mine and it pushed the boat real good. Top out at about 53 with 2 people, tackle and full fuel
|
I am suprised they "Blackjack" has not come out with a 24 footer yet!!!
|
Supposed to be out next year along with a 24 Frontier is what I heard. Of course Bill has said that last year also
|
i will say one thing, with the bow flare and the tumblehome at the stern the BJ has to be one of the sexiest boats on the water.

A 22 is nearly that. $47K - 48K. I would bet it will be in the mid 50s. |
Yeah I bet its close to $60k after its all said and done. 24 ft boat....300 verado, electronics, etc.
|
Blackjack boats
You can put a 300 on blackjack 224. I know because I just bought one from Big Wheel Boats. We checked with Bill Kenner and he said it was okay.
|
Can too put a 300 on a Blackjack. Bill Kenner just okayed one for the 224 I just bought at Big Wheel in Hammond.

I dont understand why they designed the front side hatches to open toward the inside of the boat??
|
I was told, and from experience, it makes it easier to load fishing poles, gear etc. From the side while boat is on the trailer. I like it that way.
I have a 2104 frontier. Once im on the water I take the poles out and put them in pole holders on the console. I dont really use the side compartment until it's time to store the poles again. sent from my Galaxy NOTE II |
Also if you have things on the hatches that open outward and forget to take them off before opening, your items wont fly into the water..
|
Are these last 2 posts serious????
