Hopedale Trout Slam 2-28-10

That's right I said trout! For all you guys at Big Lake they do still exist. Got on the water this morning about 7:30. The weather was beautiful and wind finally cooperated. We were going to go try and catch some reds on the fly rod on the way there I was making a few casts here and there and picked a nice 16" trout. We slowed down and started targeting the trouts and it was on. I was a steady bit so it took till about 1 to get our limits. Every fish was large and fat. When we got back to the marina it looked like the celebration parade for the Saints after they won the Super Bowl. Everyone wanted to see that strange speckled fish they had heard of but no one was catching. The owner of the marina informed me that was the first limit of trout since December of last year. We caught all fish on plastics at the MRGO rocks.:p

It is easier to catch fish when the guy in the front of the boat isn't casting across your line.:p

Well, I was talking to your average fisherman at Big Lake. I know you don't squawk as much as some of these other birds. That doesn't mean you aren't still eating most of the worms.;)

LaAngler 03-01-2010 12:14 PM

i'm j/k

that is a nice haul yall made, nice pile

I want the record to show that I have one of the biggest sense of humors anyone has ever seen. I can make anyone laugh and all most everyone around me has fun. For some reason I seem to come across as aggressive on this forum. I get a lot of j/k after I make a joke. I am one of the nicest people you will ever meet. I just want everyone to like me. I try so hard to make jokes maybe I am not as good at it as I think I am. :*****:

Case in Point.....my sarcasm is misunderstood
That being said thank you for the kind words D. I will have to tone it down a little and stick to more decipherable material.

Sometimes too much to drink just isn't enough.

catch.and.fillet 03-01-2010 02:59 PM

Dredge spoil in Big Lake...*****s, Aunt Bossie, and half the town of Jennings at the second weir...oyster dredges stirring up the bottom...local guides giving up their holes....

I'm thinking Big Lake trout are all moving East. Maybe the tourney should be moved to VBay or Cocodrie in the middle of the Geomap thingamajig or whatever Shadman called it ....
