Freaking Wind

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Take off to go and enjoy a day on the lake. Get up and wind not bad. Get about half way to Hackberry and start seeing white caps in the marsh. Get to Spicer's and Tom pulls in ahead of me, nice to meet you by the way. He pulls up wind and it is 16 gusting to 22.

So now I am home playing on the freaking puter.

There are times I hate fishing.:(

Nasty 03-12-2010 09:59 AM

all i see on the way home is border patrol here lately, everyday on the way home between vinton and sulphur i guarantee I'll see at least 3 border patrol vehicles, been like that for the past few weeks. Must be a fresh shipment coming in.

Micah 03-12-2010 12:00 PM

Not sure if you know this area but if you want to avoid some road construction dont go south on Common St. Its not too bad but if you went south on Big Lake Rd. it would prolly save some headache.......or go Lake St. to Lincoln and then you can go to Gulf Hwy. or Big Lake Rd.

Water is stained pretty bad in the lake and along the edges of the ship channel.
The clearest water I saw today was in the middle of the ship channel.
I saw lots of birds hitting bait behind a couple tugs in the channel, but didn't
see any birds anywhere else but on the jetties, not flying.
I did see 15 or more guide boats in the West Cove fishing between the headquarters
canal and the first point towards the ship channel. I saw a few more in the
West Fork and a couple at the jetties. The water at the jetties was chocolate brown,
inside and out.
I saw a lot of trucks at the Cameron Jetty's and Calcasieu Point, but not a lot of boats.
Most boats must have went North of the ICW or behind the weirs. The winds are kickin today.
Hope it dies down some. The area I want to fish won't be good with a N/NW wind.
We will have to start potlicking if it stays like this.
The lake looks terrible.

First pics of the weekend, keep sending them in!
Of EVERYTHING, *dolphins blankets cough cough* :D

Sounds like not much has changed from last year. I remember mid March--early May....couldn't even think about fishing. 20mph+ everyday Water visibility -4inches! LOL Hope ya'll don't have to deal w/ that again this year. I do think it allowed some trout to spawn w/ out a lot of pressure. Guess that's a good thing.

Salty 03-12-2010 05:36 PM

These winds should not come as a surprise to anyone who fishes in early spring.

evis102 03-12-2010 05:52 PM

Is this a 3 fish stringer?

Or total weight of the Trout caught each day?

evis102 03-12-2010 06:39 PM
