bees
Question. My neighbor has a huge honey bee hive inside a wall on the back side of his house. I asked him numerous times since last year to take care of it. I have 3 small boys and a dog. During the winter the bees would swarm onto my flood lights at night and during the day they are just seen flying to the hive back and forth. Is code enforcement something that may make him take care of it? Dont want to start trouble with him but I am allergic. Me i can take care of myself but if one of the little ones are on the trampoline and get swarmed it could be bad. Just went outside and their must be 20 or so swarming my floods right by back door.

That is where I would start at if he won't take care of it himself..
|
Why would he not want them taken care of? Tree Hugger I suppose?

Call the white house - surely we're already paying a tax for bee extermination...
joking aside, I would call your stubborn jacka$$ neighbor and tell him to fix the problem or you will call the city to do it - and he will be billed if they have to come out to do it. If that don't happen, get you a can of WD-40 and a bic lighter and go to town! Good luck. And make sure you got you some fast shoes on if you fall on plan C... |
He is allergic so I think he should spray some gas on the hive, make a line to his back porch and light it from there. Take pics I wanna see this ****.

I'm sure he could use some of fools nikes! |
He may have to tear a piece of wall out to get to them.

get some gasoline and drown the nest. do not light it. it will kill them just the same. but if you light it, well you know the result.

I have a friend in Lake Charles who has a honey business. He used to take the hives
out of houses before Rita. Don't think he does it anymore. People wanted someone to take it out, without taking the walls down. If you leave the honey in the house too long, it will rot the wood. |
I wish I had a video of his nephew last year. He was drunk and I gave him a can of wasp spray. Ever saw what they do when you walk up right to where they go in and spray? Fastest I ever saw someone move in my life.Honey bees do not get me going too much. I really cant stand wasps or yellow jackets. I hurt myself more trying to get away from them. If one flies near me when I am in the kayak you would swear I had a verado on the back!

Try to find out who his homeowners insurance is with and call them. Insurance companies will get off of any hazard that they know is a ticking time bomb with regards to Liability. I would also contact your local city or parish councilman and get him involved. Make sure you document all calls and conversations for a future suit against said parties. Would bet if these bees are agressive they are probably Africanized and very dangerous. Silverback bees must be exterminated, they cannot be Rehabilitated.:shaking:

PLease dont kill the bees, they are probably not africanized honey bees, get an expert out there to be sure and get them removed, Bees are very vital to our ag industry and we are loosing them at an alarming rate

A bottle of dish washing liquid and a gallon of water in a garden sprayer. They don't know what hit em'! my dad has honey bees, and I used to work with him when I was a kid. This mixture works well without the chance of a fire. The bees are dying out because of a parasite (mite).
|
Well, city is making a visit today or tomorrow to look at the hive and cite them and tell them they have a bee keeper come and remove the bees as the city does not provide the service. Have not been there in a couple days to see as my plumbing decided to act up and flood the damn house. More fun waiting on insurance and such. Stressed out to say the least. Ready for some crawfish and many cold beers

I would have him exterminate them, I'd get a bee keeper out there to try and move there colony.
