Why do you fish?
Tell me why you do what you do
|
I like the feeling of being able to provide my own food. It's fun but unfortunately if I don't catch I get mad. Guess it's my age I'll be humble at some point and just be fine with being able to get out there.
|
more of a lifestyle i guess. i've done it my entire life, it's just what i do.
i do it because i love the outdoors, love the waters, boats, the good friends and time with family. i do it for the adrenaline rush that very few things can give me. i do it because it's what i'm good at. |

Been doing it all my life and would not have it any other way. I really enjoy being outdoors on the water, and to catch fish too. :D

Fishing has always been a part of my life, my mom took me when they went out before I could even walk. Always been hooked, I love being outdoors weather it be duck/dove hunting or fishing. Its always nice to catch fish but when Im out in the marsh and no one around I like just being out there hearing and seeing everything.
I never have thanked my mom for introducing me to fishing but I think I will, she hasnt been fishing in a while because of work but I think its time for me to take her out and get on some fish. Same thing with my grandfather, he showed me how to shoot a gun and blow a duck call. Every morning when I put the dekes out and start seeing ducks buzz the spread Im thankful for every minute my grandfather took to show me the ways of the outdoors. He still gets out there with the youngens in the family and hunts with us every season. I learn more and more every outing with him, not having a dad growing up he took his place and did a damn good job of doing it. |
NOTHING like foolin them ducks!
You mean nothing like KILLING them ducks...:D Fish because I love the outdoors and I am a game hog!:D |
just for the fun of it..
Lifestyle like bruce said..ive done it since i was a baby so why stop now? |
Definitely do it cause i love it. When I know I'm going I still can never get to sleep the night before anticipating the alarm clock to go off at 3:30 in the morning. The feeling of being out there and being able to pack it in my bag of memories keeps the fire burning. It's a time when I get together with my friends and family to hang out and do what I want when I want. Every time I'm done, I can't wait to get back out and experience it. What is even more gratifying is when I get to take my kids out there with me. This is like the passing of the torch because of what my Paw Paws, mom, and dad did for me and my brother. They taught us to respect and value the experience. It always brings me back to those times and I salute them everytime I get to go.

Because I am freaking good at it, undeniably one of the best in the world, I am like the Tiger Woods of fishing, white women and all! :D
|
My dad was telling me a story the other day about how he took me trout fishing when I was like 4 or 5. They were smoking the fish and I was tired so they bungee corded me to the seat so I could sleep without fallin. Like yall said it's how I was raised!

Cause I hate being inside.
I have a desk job and have to stay inside for 2 weeks. When I get home, I have to be outside. |
Cause I hate being inside.
I have a desk job /QUOTE] At my office you have to swipe your badge to go in and out of the building. There are no windows, it is like a cave. If you go outside too many times during the day somebody comes down and asks why are you leaving the building so many times. I don't really care if I catch any fish when I go fishing, I just enjoy the sounds of nature. |
No winders at my job either.
I work seven 13 hour nights. No sun. Then I work seven 12 hour days and I get about 1 hour of sun per day. When I get home, I get some sun... |
I do it for the fish, the fun times, and the crazy stuff that always seems to happen.

Out-Of-Doors
Being an outdoorsman is a way of life !! Either you are or you are not. Just that simple.
Most of us grew up doing it because of our "Cajun" heritage its what they did back in the day for food, and for sport. I know when I was younger my dad and all of his friends had great tales of hunts and of fishing trips. Our family would go to a relatives house or just some friends of our parents for weekend dinners, crabs boils, fish fries, pig roasts. So, no doubt it for the food. BUT It is something thats bread into you and I LOVE IT. Oh and that rush of a trout smokin a top water in ball deep water is pretty freaken good too. Freddy <')))>{ |
Used to do it to get away form wife number 1
Now, I just enjoy being out there, especially with T-bic my youngest son. Absolutely love the water, brown, green or blue. Just really like being out there. and the few time I have figured the fish out are just a bonus. No limits needed anymore, just a mess to smell the oven or black iron skillet. |
Why Not?
Way of life. Done if for about 44 years or so, when I was 6 is my first memories of it. |
this is simple ... for that "THUMP" nothing in life is better than the thump when a fish hits your lure . i dont care if i got 50 in the ice chest already every fish i catch gets me off when i feel that thump . man im pitchin a tent right now just thinking about it. i also like the braggin rights!!!:smokin:
