answered prayers

Back in early March, when I returned home from trompin' around in the mud with Bruce at Big Lake, I had an MRI done on my back due to unbearable pain. The MRI showed a spinal tumor just below my shoulder blades. Since the tumor was on the spine, it was inoperable , so, my only option was radiation and steroids. I've been taking those treatments for the past 5 weeks and I got the word from the doctors this morning that the tumor is completely gone. A couple of you guys knew about it and I want to thank you for your prayers. The doctor said that the treatments would not have worked alone. Thanks.

I'm kinda lookin' at things from a different perspective, now. I told my wife, "No more sayin' LSU sucks!" But, there are some things that I just can't force myself to do...and this is one of 'em.

:thefinger: Texas!

This was a non-cancerous tumor. That's the good part. The bad part was that, in it's position and it's growth rate, it could have caused some serious paralysis. Three weeks ago, my fingers were starting to become numb at times and, I gotta tell ya, it feared me bigtime. The doctors said this was a critical time in the proceedure so they doubled up on the radiation and steriods. I got so sick to my stomach until I couldn't eat. This dood came into the room with a friggin' joint. He handed it to me and I said, "What am I supposed to do with this?" He told me to smoke it and I'd eat like a pig. I took a couple of good hits and, even though I didn't get the munchkins, I started singin', "Geaux Tigers!" :*****::*****: I gotta lay off that stuff. This is a true story.

No, unfortunately, the treatments did not fix the issue with my blown discs. I guess that's something I'll have to live with. With the amount of damage, the nuerosurgeon has told me that surgery is not a viable option. The pain has not been as bad this past week with the shrinking of the tumor. When I got out of W's bote at Hebert's, that was the worst pain ever. It was because I had agravated the tumor with the wading. I had an MRI done two weeks before and there was no tumor. I have a neurosurgery appointment tomorrow. Might see if i can score a couple more of them left-handed smokes. J/K

The Lord works in mysterious ways. Glad to hear of your recovery. The stuff they can do thru 'Modern Medicine' is nothing short of amazing...

LaAngler 04-22-2010 04:05 PM
