Very slow 2nd split opening in Johnson Bayou. I did talk to some guys that killed limits west of 27 but not many. We had significant birds holding on Wednesday of last week then Friday when I came to put the decoys out there was a very noticeable decrease in our birds.

60 ducks in the first 3 days of the season. Not bad. Better than the first split. Bell city.

Shot 2 greys and a pintail this morning all within about 5 minutes of each other. Thought it was going to be a great day. Didn't fire a shot after 7am......... Did not see many birds at all. Very discouraging but will try them again in the morning.

Black Jacks are ring neck ducks. You can kill 6 of them. Dos Gris are scaup. You can only kill 3 of those. We have a bumper crop of them this year. Also, black jacks will eat better than dos gris.
