Corkies. How good are they?

I've never used them, but hear good things about them. Are they any more effective than a Top Dog? If I try a couple, what colors are best and where can I get them around Lafayette? Thanks.

Never had any luck with them. I stick to Top Dogs and mirrodines

Truth. Also gotta fish where the fish are. The best bait in the world won't catch crap if they're not there.

I was joking on that post, but Academy does have a shrimp lure similar to the Vudu shrimp, don't think they carry the actual brand Vudu shrimp

I am pretty sure that Pack n Paddle has corkies if you want to stop in there, they also have Vudu shrimp as well:)

Yeah I've got a couple of the Academy ones. They're called the Mojo shrimp. Haven't used them much, but they do have good movement on the tail. Thanks for the Corky location.

Academy has the Corkys and soft dine lures.
Pack and Paddle has the crazy croaker and the maniac mullet lures

All of these lures are about the same, just different sizes. They work well, i like them because of the design. The soft boy can really be worked erratically and just when you think, "Man i am never gonna catch a thing on these lures" there is a THUMP! fish on.

They cast like a rattle trap, you can work them shallow, suspended or deep. Very versatile.

My best trip fishing them was last year, I was fishing a current break and had 4 fish in the boat. I made a cast, backlashed as the lure sank for 10+ seconds and BAM! 3 lb trout. I ended up with almost a limit. Casting out and letting the lure sink without a twitch. The fish would hit it so hard they it was like they were trying to take the pole out my hand.

Some people like them, some don't. I cant seem to get a trout on a topwater lure so i favor these.

Corky devils are a good choice, maniac mullet as well.

Tried the new soft dine last weekend, lure looked great out of the water, we were commenting on it, tried it out and first cast caught a derelict crab trap...there went that 10$....not giving up on it though shoulda bought two..

I agree, looks great in the package. Does it look and work like a mirrodine?
I don't guess that you got to see it work very long if it hung on a crab trap.
