Flounder fishing in Cameron.

I have never really targeted flounder. Have got on them good a couple times in the cuts in winter. Last year got on em pretty good in Cameron ship channel close to ferry. Weather has everything messed up now especially my Crappie holes and too cold for boat. Thinking about bank fishing by ferry I've read a lot about. Which color gulp is the best? Has anyone ever tried that flat everyone catches trout on in summer. A lot wade it but a lot fish by boat too. Idk. Going to wet a line somewhere tomorrow and try Crappie again sunday

I’ve never fished by the ferry but have flounder fished the channel
By boat and done well. I’ve had better luck with chartreuse gulp with curly tail. If you can catch some croaker or any kind offish really. Cut them in little chunks and tip with that. You will greatly increase your chances of catching.

I have had good luck with the darker green with tan belly, the 3" long shrimp with a jig head. You have to pause on the bite a little more but I have always done good with them if the water is darkish.

We usually throw either the chartreuse or pearl white gulp swimming mullet. I've seen waders throwing tandem rigged ones quite a bit. I seem to have better luck fishing a falling tide
