It is still a 25hp limit but no one checks on you. I have seen some 200hps in there since they opened it up at Misere. Have run a 35 hp Surface Drive in it since 2007 and never got checked. Only the ones who have 25hp says they get checked. So go figure

It is still a 25hp limit. The only ones that are supposed to be in Miami with bigger motors are the trappers and gaugers. If you see someone with a bigger motor and he doesn't have a trappers tag on his boat, call the numbers in to Miami.

On the Superior Canal side my uncle is one of the trappers and has had a sheriff deputy stage up at the Grand Lake entrance to the Superior Canal and stop boats and write tickets. Also those who have a lease with Miami for duck hunting that is caught with a bigger motor while out fishing could possibly loose their lease.

I don't know what the fine is for trespassing but I don't want to find out.

Could you explain your comment? I am not quite understanding what you mean.

I am with you Warren. Not sure WTH he means. I thought your post was pretty informative and not anything else.

Sure wish they would let mud motors in.

papap 03-25-2012 08:26 PM

A 35hp mud motor is slower than a 25 outboard.
