Linking depth finders

I have a navionics chip in unit by console and it is linked with Ethernet cable to the front unit. However I don't get the contour details etc... On my front unit. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

I know the Hummingbirds don't share the maps over the network, Lowrance may be the same.

mako1 12-19-2014 02:07 PM

really. so i have to buy a card for the front and back ? thats insane

Noo you dont " Chart Sharing allows viewing of map data from one chart card across every HDS Gen 2 and Gen2 Touch display on the network, maximizing chart card value."
the option you need is in the network settings. if I recall you need to get the main one I connect with the second unit by going into your settings.
Ill look it up and get back with you.

So go to my settings on my main unit?

If you enter coordinates on your main unit, does it sync to the bow unit? I would think if this feature is working then the map should sync up too.

Go to the lowrance section on bbcboards.net it will answer any and every question you may have.

alphaman 12-19-2014 07:04 PM

Which units are they Gen 2 touch or first Gen. Or both. And do you have SS. Box or touch

alphaman 12-19-2014 07:10 PM

If I'm correct you won't be able to share maps if the units are different. But regular stuff like way points sonar structure scan. Will be able to share btw the units

mako1 12-19-2014 07:29 PM

Hds 5 /7. Gen 2 not touch

You might have to buy another chip bc they are different units 5 and 7. That could be why the card/maps wont show on the other unit.

bayouchub 12-19-2014 07:54 PM

Im pretty sure size of screen does not matter as long as they are both the same.

have you updated to the latest software?

Chart Sharing
Chart sharing allows a compatible chart card placed in one HDS display to be viewed on every other HDS display on the same ethernet network.
Works with Insight, Navionics, Jeppesen and other 3rd party chart providers
Works only on Gen2 or Gen2 Touch units with 2.0 (or later) software installed
NOTE: Cartography downloaded from the Insight Store (Insight Genesis, downloaded Insight cards, etc.) are registered to a specific device Content ID and will not share across the network. When a chart card is inserted into a networked display, this message may appear on all displays on the network (if required to view that chart card)

alphaman 12-19-2014 11:56 PM

Everything but the card will show up on the other unit BOOOMSHAKALAKA. Lol 😎

mako1 12-20-2014 04:37 PM

I don't see any free downloads. Cost 99$ for download. Might as well buy new card
