New to Big Lake.. any advice appreciated!!!
Just got a new boat, live in Lake Charles. Only fish Big Lake a few times a year. Seeing if anyone can point me in the direction of the reds... Don't really wanna try and mess with the trout right now. Or maybe for some flatties? Where should I try this weekend??
Thanks in advance!! Will |
Stick to specklebellies will, they are much more entertaining than speckled trout

Fish the banks & cuts into the marsh.
Find clean water. Fish birds if u see em. Don't run big engine up to ur spot. Use trolling motor Drift with the wind not against it Gently put ur anchor in the water ; don't toss it. Respect others fishing and drifting; don't cut them off or run infront of them. Don't their trash in the water. Have fun; get a map and learn the lake. |

Get you a Hook-N-Line map and start putting in time, good luck! |
Chris!! Hahahahaha!!!! Good advise!!
Never ever drift upwind.....if you do, there is something very very wrong! |
If you have time and you're in the area, swing by the Tacklebox in Sulphur and ask for me, I'll be happy to pull out the map and show you some good spots to start around big lake.

Don't try and use ur trolling motor to go against the wind. Is that better??;) |
