what did you use? it got some of those lil tiny scrathes on it from washing it.... you can't really notice unless u really look hard but i wanna try waxing see if it helps hide em

I use liquid glass, not a wax but a polish. Worked pretty good for several scuff marks on boat etc

msu-tfrancois 08-02-2011 12:14 PM

ok thanks jus wanted to make sure i wouldn't mess it up trying to put some type of wax on it......i'd be sick if i messed something up cause its not bad at all just me being paranoid bout ma new motor!

Try woody wax.

ryane7 08-02-2011 12:35 PM

I just started using rejex lasts longer than woody wax and makes everything super easy to clean nothing sticks once u apply the rejex

3M Compound is good to get scratches out and I use Meguiars NXT wax to do a good cleaning and then when I just wash my motor I use the NXT quick wax in the pump bottle, these are good on boat too

I use the same fiberglass wax that I wax the boat with.
Makes it easier to wash the salt off.

Doesn't some women use some kind of wax? Ask around, it does a pretty good job on it.

3M buffing compound removes scratches and oxidation

Walmart did carry it but I know auto paint stores probly have it since its a 3M product

LPfishnTIM 08-02-2011 09:00 PM

compound will leave swirls if you don't do it right but if you have oxidation its about the only thing that will get that out, Just use a polish first after washing it and polish out the scratches if all you have is scratches, then If you want to wax for a shine you can. but a lot of waxes don't really get deep in to the scratches to make them disappear.
