I'm sure if you fish the rocks along the ship channel with live shrimp you could catch plenty.

We've never put together a mess of sheepshead in a single trip, even though we target them several times a year. We catch most of ours in Turner's bay. They seem to be spread out most of the time.

If you take a large bream cork and put a piece of shrimp big enough just to cover the hook point fish about 3' deep around any rocks.
If you use a whole shrimp they will pick it to death.
I catch them when sight fishing reds sometimes. With a very small hook and just a piece of a gulp shrimp big enough to cover hook doesn't need to look like anything.
They eat lots of small things and small baits appeal to them better.

I've caught a lot around the rocks at the wiers.

Second that on Turner's Bay. Happened on one trip with 30-40 caught. I believe this was in November

Also Cameron Jetties outside east Jetty.

If you see some pilons near a deep channel try there too. As mention a shrimp tipped hook under a cork right up on some structure. My dad was the Sheep Head master. When worked at the shrimp factory he would catch 100-200 a week and never casted his line. He would stay on the shrimp dock and drop it over the side. Right now is the times of the year they start biting good.
