Leader with braid line

How many of you guys use a leader from braided line to mono or fluro? Is this important to do? Is the knot you tie strong enough to hold on? Pros and cons of doing it?

I fish with braid and tie an FG knot to flouro and never have had the line popped at the leader.

Use braid to mono over brush piles @ toledo bend and mono to flouro inshore fishing. Surgeons knot is simple to tie and it works with any line to line joining I’ve tried it with. Wouldn’t fish with out it.

Tie braid to Flouro for coastal/offshore fishing. Tie double uni knot. It ain’t going anywhere

Don't like braid but when I have to I use FG knot for braid to mono or fluoro. Use triple surgeons knot 12#mono to 40#mono or fluoro for specks.

Uni-to-uni when it matters. I prefer tying two unis to a swivel when I can.

Nail knot

Tie a nail knot around the braid with the mono but do not tighten (they sell a tool to do this). With the braid tie a half hitch around the mono and tighten tight. Grabbing the half hitch, pull the mono until the nail knot is against the half hitch then tighten. Clip the tags very short. This retains 100% of the line strength and passes easily through the guides. Although this sounds complicated, it is very easy. Even an old man like me can do it.
