Toledo Bend flood

It's pretty incredible to see the water as high as it is. Anybody else here waiting to fish?
Am thinking about flipping some freshly-flooded bushes in people's yards. Waiting for rain to slack off so I can attempt to launch.

that's awesome! wish I was you right now.. I'm here stuck at work, but if this rain leaves Lafayette, I'm out this joint

Yea I'm waiting on Saturday to fish.. Hopefully the water won't be falling by then. Always seems like it's harder to catch them than when it's rising or steady. I would think it'd be hard to beat a spinner bait or chatter bait if you couldn't catch em flipping first today. I'd start at the bank flipping fasho though. Good luck

My wife told me that the noon TV report was that some flood gates have been opened. I hope the water does not get too high on the Sabine and flood some camps.

Supposedly 9 gates open to 22'. More water coming out than Nigira Falls

My boathouse in Negreet, the one on the left, top of the walkway is set at 174.6 MSL, never seen it get over that, use caution fishing the Bend. Expect to find trees, pilings, and floating docks in the boat lanes - be safe!

Wow, that's absolutely amazing, but devastating to the banks, trees and camps downriver.

i wonder what this will do the all the fish spawning. Will it be a more successful spawn or worse? I'm sure a good percentage of bass have already laid.

Water is 64.5 degrees and muddy. Caught three bass, a choupique and a gar today. Seems the trash fish are energetic and the bass are playing hard to get. I guess conditions need to stabilize a bit.
I did get word of a 12 lb'er caught this morning from a Toledo Town employee...

Catching a few bass this morning on the main lake. Looks like carp are mating up a storm in the shallows.
