Went a couple weeks ago and shared my report in inshore fishing reports. Unfortunately there are fewer and fewer reports on here......

This second hand info so take for what it’s worth. But water is good most every where midto north lake being best. Birds are working but lots of culling and trash fish to keepers. Hope this helps and please post a report if you go.

Haven't been doing good in my normal redfish and trout spots but took my little brothers to the jetties today and they caught more bull reds, sharks, and gaftop then the yard could handle. Nothing short on those three. They had a blast. Crazy amount of ladyfish on lake today all the way from calc point to the jetties. More ladyfish than I've ever seen anywhere. Fresh ladyfish was our bait at jetties

*then they could handle*

Hey worldwide sportsman,

How do you catch your lady for bait? I mean i just have hard time actually "landing" them they get off my hook so easy.

seatrout 07-14-2018 11:47 AM

** Ladyfish** dang its contagious

There is an edit post function when you do a typo. That way you can fix the original post. Lol.

I believe as they keep the weir's closed the fishing will continue to be bad. There's a lot of bait back in that marsh that helps draw the fish in.

My wife and drove out to Hebert's today around 1pm or so, looked like the wind was picking up. I was curious to see if anyone was having luck. We may head down next weekend for a trip.

Just got back from Big Lake Fishing since Friday.

Lot's of Ladyfish and Gaftop Catfish. Acres of Shad all over the Lake. Caught 6 Specks in 3 days of fishing. Water too hot and Lake full of bait. Fished 2 nights under the lights with very little luck.

Guide posts at the dock had a few fish from offshore.

Come on winter fishing!!!!!!

May be a stupid question, but what has to happen to open and/or close the weirs? Water levels in the lake/marsh? Salenity?

Seems like the jetties is the place to be.

We were crabbing near Hog Island and Sabine, everything was leveled out near those structures. We watched an alligator swim through.

So many ladyfish it's not even funny lol

It's because of salinity, need more rain back there. You can call 855-532-9955 to find out the status of the weirs. If they are open or not. It's a recording.
