better than mine it was a hooded merganser, then after that i killed a spoonie. The merganser i got mounted

SaltERedneck 11-03-2011 12:18 PM

was gonna mount the drake but lost it due to ice storm... lost tons of meat and that mount. soo i took the band off.

DUCKGOGETTER 11-03-2011 12:22 PM

Haha I knew that was coming. Have you ever killed a deer with a bow? If not I understand why your not a fan. I like to duck and goose hunt but nothing like the adrenaline rush shooting a deer with a bow.

Lol... tree loungers

My first was a merganser too and it's on the wall also. That hunt will be etched in my memory forever. Many birds feel at the end of that ol single shot 20.

I love the atmosphere and commradery(sp?) of duck hunting. deer hunting is fun but not for me. I love bow hunting though.

I hear ya,I just can't see spending thousands of dollars a year to duck hunt. I usually make 2 or 3 goose hunts a year. I really like blasting those specks, they sure taste good too.

yep it gets pricey if you arent lucky enough to have someone in your family with a spot... i am one of those unfortunates. hunting reserves can save you some money but the aggravation is a trade off.

Yeah man I hunted the wax a few times and that is not for me. I can handle potlickers fishing but not drunk cajuns with guns thinking they can hunt on top of you.

SaltERedneck 11-03-2011 12:51 PM

haha I know the feeling. used to hunt sabine and faster boats would pass me 5 feet away heading down a small canal (scary feeling) .... many times i got sprayed by late comers who would set up 300 or less yards away from us.

Banded ducks are a touchy subject with me.. just ask shawn braquet on the story...
