I have not been there since the fall but there is always something biting where the canal dumps into the bay. Fish on the southside of the rock jetty. Anchor your boat in 5-6 fow and cast into the deeper channel. A heavy dropshot rig works best, carolina rig will stay hung up. Fresh shrimp always works but I like to use live finger mullet. I have kept gafftops before, with enough seasoning and deep fired it is good. I just don't care to mess with all the slime. Taste better if you soak the fillets in buttermilk for about an hour in the fridge.

Well. I caught 1 keeper red.. 4 throwbacks.. 3 large gafftops.. 2 big nasty black drum a gar and 3 sting ray.. I should have just driven the extra 20 mins and launched at the point.. lol
