strong backbone
 

I used to have a 6000 and a 7000 abu ambassadeurs on ugly stiks that were my go to big fish reels. But ive drifted off that and now have only have lighter tackle. Mainly size 2000 spinning reels with medium actions rods. Looking to grt some more big fish rods. I know the ugly stik are proven but I would still like a relative lighter rod. Any suggestions on a rod with a strong backbone to horse some big fish in. Been fishing alot of pilings and ive been giving my equipment heck lately.
