A good friend had his limit of 45 trout on plastic before most were done getting crickets

Shrimp Beware ..they are coming for you!!!!

inchspinner 05-04-2012 12:04 PM

Nope crappie nibbles....

inchspinner 05-04-2012 12:08 PM

I think dub is trying to say hes got more skills with artif...in other words if you use crickets you dont have skills...what ever you wanna use is cool....ill throw em on occasions

DUCKGOGETTER 05-04-2012 12:09 PM

I've used live shrimp before, but i've had equal or better success fishing with topwater/ sparkle beetle. When i fished big lake religously if i wasn't catching trout on topwater which is my favorite way to fish it was with a sparkle beetle. Them things are deadly.

"W" 05-04-2012 12:16 PM

I'm saying if you have to use live shrimp in May....your skillzzzz must be very low

inchspinner 05-04-2012 12:19 PM

i'm sorry, but imo the best live bait for trout are croaker or cocahoe minnows.

or pogys ... if you can keep em alive

"W" 05-04-2012 12:46 PM

I aint never had luck with croaker...never had a bunch to use but a few years back we had some and they were killing the mullet better, but I'm not much of a pro to live bait just use maybe 3 times on channel in August
