meaux fishing 11-14-2009 11:40 AM

let me just tell you saw a bunch of teal and a few big ducks south of abbeville....if my friends brother had not been late and we had got in the blind 15 minutes before shooting time instead of 20 minutes after:pissed: we prolly would have done alright....ended up with 3 teal...should have gone fishing

homerun 11-14-2009 11:55 AM

big pasture--- 3 man limit 9 teal,7 greys,1 pintail,and 1 blacky :smokin:

Deadly D 11-14-2009 12:24 PM

We had a good hunt this morning 24 ducks and 1 speck.most were teal. We had 1 greenhead ,2 mottles 1 gray, 2 ringnecks and the rest teal.

Hunted our lease in Kaplan with one of my uncles buddies.....we had 7 teal. There were a lot of birds (teal) but when you have a tractor broken down 15 yards from your blind it cannot help. Nothing wanted to decoy or even pass close to the deks. All the birds we shot were medium height passing shots. Hopefully, the tractor will be pulled out today.

Hopedale Hustler 11-14-2009 12:50 PM

it started very slow...very little wind...killed 4 teal early and had to wait it out for our other 6 ducks..but we did end up with 2 red heads...2 ring necks...a mottle duck and a spoonie...so not to bad just slow..it'll pick up as the weather improves...

all star rod 11-14-2009 12:59 PM

I had a feeling opening SAT of duck season it would be ZERO wind!!!!!:cry:

LSUh20fowler 11-14-2009 02:33 PM

Heard a good bit of shooting down here around the Gibbstown bridge. But naturally, I was working instead of hunting.

huntin fool 11-14-2009 03:03 PM

i wish it'd been 40 degrees, 15 mph north wind, misting/drizziling, ducks flying like no tomorrow!

all star rod 11-14-2009 03:07 PM

When I hunt the rice fields I love it to be windy, front moving thru and some rain. When I hunt in the marsh I like 10 mph north wind and a sunny blue bird day!

I like huntin in the fog myself. You're right about the clear day with the north wind in the marsh. Nothing like it.

Ray 11-14-2009 03:42 PM

I like it when it is foggy till around 8 am, then it burns off.
It's like they open the gates and let all the ducks out at the same time...
