I don't know what to do or say.

I posted about a few months back about my friends wife being diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian and liver cancer. She passed. Her husband has been a life long friend which made her my sister. Only 38 and with 2 children. I feel bad becausr when I talk to him it's the same stuff he has heard a 100 times today. Heaven will shine brighter for having her. She was such a wonderful lady.

Man, sorry to hear that, and sorry for your friend's loss. Sometimes there is nothing that can be said. Sometimes the only thing, and best thing, is to just be there when that person needs someone.

My wife (then girlfriend) lost her mom 6 years ago this month. Only 3 days before Christmas. It was a tough week. I had lost my dad when I was 12, so I understood the feeling. I also knew that there wasn't anything I could say that would make it better. But I was there for her and her family (I barely knew her mom, because she had been sick almost the entire time we had been dating and was in the hospital in Houston). I knew the one thing that family probably needed more than anything was just someone to be there and to be strong for them.

It may not seem like much, but sometimes, that's all someone needs.

My sister lost a child 11 years ago now.........nothing could be said to her that would ease her pain. In fact ........words became war in her mind........I just told her then and now that I love her.

She said that I stand in the gap for her.........the gap between those that have lost a child and those that have not........

Stand in his gap

Their son will be 12 in 2 weeks and now he doesn't have his mom. I changed the little turds diapers at one point. I hurt so bad for him.

Sorry for you and your friend. I have lost both parents and a sister. I remember the people that showed up and put their arms around me at the time I was hurting but I don’t remember anything that anyone said. Just be there for your friend and his family and you won’t have to say anything.

Same age my BIL was when their mom passed away. He was never a very emotional kid to begin with, but I think he bottles up even more now.

Not that I'm any better. Losing a parent at that age changes you. If he's got good people around him, he'll be ok. Nothing can replace that parent though.

I was talking with my wife this morning about which suit I was gonna wear for her services tommorow and when it really sank in why we were having that discussion I had to sit down. Never in a million years would I have ever thought I would be having that discussion. Such a beautiful person inside and out. She was a nurse because she liked to help people. The world is a little less bright for loosing her.

She was my only sister. Not by blood but my sister none the less.

She certainly was that. She went to school to be a nurse because she liked to help people. She could have played the trophy wife but it wasn't who she was. Believe me she did not do it for the money. Girl wearing a Rolex and driving any car she wanted. She was just a generous soul and loved to help people. A truely compassionate person that is gone from thos world way to soon.

There's really nothing you can say at this moment. All you can say is i'm there if you need anything. And stand by your words.

Having lost my mom when I was 12 and my grandson when he was 11 months old, I can honestly say that nothing heals such a loss except time and prayer. Just continue to be there for your best friend and just listen, listen, listen.

Man I am so sorry to hear that. Having my 1st grandbaby I could not imagine the thought of loosing her. Everyone told me your grandkids will become your world. I thought it was bs. It wasn't. They steal your heart. Sorry for your loss.
